Denture Barcoding - The Clever Way
Forensic Odontology is the means to identify a person from their dental remains. Various methods are there for identifying an individual. In this study, the main aim is to identify an edentulous person making a positive identification by means of Barcode. A Barcode is a machine-readable code in the form of numbers and a pattern of parallel lines of varying widths, printed on a commodity. The study focuses on creating dentures with identification marks/labels using patient’s identity proofs such as Aadhar Card, PAN card, Voter ID card. And these will be incorporated in the denture after acrylization using cost effective and minimally altering method. This is an attempt to incorporate identity marks in dentures that can be provided by a General Dental Practitioner on day-to-day basis.
Carbon Emission Efficiency and Emission Permit Allocation of China’s Fire Power Industry: An Emission Permit Trading Perspective
The emissions trading system is an important tool to combat climate change, which uses the “cap and trade” principle to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. This paper first adopts production technology considering carbon emission permit trading and proposes a data envelopment analysis (DEA) model to evaluate carbon emission efficiency of Chinese fire power industry from 2013 to 2017. Further, a new zero sum gains DEA(ZSG-DEA)considering carbon emission permit trading model is proposed based on efficiency principle to adjust the initial allocation of carbon emission permits (considering fairness principle) among regional fire power industries in 2030. The new approach enables us to investigate the carbon emission efficiency and emission permit allocation problem from an emission permit trading perspective. Theoretical analysis show that organizations have higher potential in reducing carbon emissions and greater potential in improving inputs and outputs after introducing emitting permit trading. Empirical results show that the southeastern fire power industries have higher carbon emission efficiencies and permitted emission levels. Under the background of carbon emission permit trading, the allocation level of carbon emissions permit in inefficient areas is limited and given greater responsibility for reducing emissions considering fairness and efficiency principles. This could promote active carbon emissions reduction in various regions so as to realize China’s carbon emissions [1] reduction targets in a faster pace.
Molecular Characterization and Resistance Patterns of Multidrug MethicillinResistant Staphylococcus aureus Isolated from Wound
Staphylococcus aureus is a serious risk to public health as it triggers human infections ranges from wound abscess to life threatening states. As involvement to the global effort the objectives of this study were to examine the incidence of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in Taif region, Saudi Arabia. Moreover, this work aimed to estimate the relation between the phenotypic antibiotic susceptibility patterns and the antibiotic resistance genes mong MRSA isolates. A total of 67 wound specimens were taken from patients.
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) was selected by growing on Mannitol Salt Agar supplemented with methicillin
(5 mg/l). The prevalence of methicillin-sensitive S. aureus (MSSA) and methicillin-resistant (MRSA) wound carriage among patients
was 51 and 49 %, respectively.
Modeling of InGaAsBi/InGaAs/InP Multi-Quantum Wells Short-Wave Infrared Detectors
We report the theoretical investigation of type-I InGaAsBi/InGaAs superlattice short-wave infrared detector nearly lattice matched to InP substrate such as the quaternary InGaAsBi/InGaAs layer is the absorption region. The used bismuth composition is about 5.5%, the Bi incorporation induced a cut-off wavelength red-shift from 1.6 µm to 3µm at room temperature (RT), and showing a band gap reduction about 362meV.

Nigeria’s E-Waste Management: Extended Producer Responsibility and Informal Sector Inclusion
This paper explores the emerging role of the private sector and public-private partnerships for e-waste management in the developing world. We use a combination of two conceptual frameworks, the triple bottom line approach and the sustainable livelihoods approach, to analyze the case study of the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programme in Nigeria, which was launched in 2016. The sustainable livelihoods approach has been adopted in international development for over two decades, but so far it has not been applied for inclusion of informal sector workers in e-waste. Our findings illustrate how the financial and environmental bottom lines have already received considerable attention during the development of the Nigerian EPR programme, but that the social elements, in particular informal sector inclusion, have received less attention. Consequently, based on proven practices of the sustainable livelihoods approach, this paper identifies opportunities and provides recommendations as to how the international and national private sector players and government agencies involved in Nigeria’s e-waste EPR programme can establish a social engagement model to support inclusion of the informal sector. This model would not only help meet the financial and environmental bottom lines, but also address the social bottom line to improve livelihood outcomes for informal e-waste recyclers.
Quantitative Analysis of Normal Electrocardiogram from Tele Minas Saúde Project, Minas Gerais, Brazil
The electrocardiogram (ECG) is a widely used tool to track and to detect heart diseases which are one of the leading causes of death in the world. Some countries have been using the resources of telemedicine to enable health care in situations where distance is a critical factor, including cardiovascular diseases. In Brazil, the State of Minas Gerais has a telecardiology system, the Teleminas Saúde Project, which covers approximadely 70% of the state population.
Benign Pulmonary Metastasizing Leiomyoma
Benign metastasizing leiomyoma (BML) is a rare event that occurs in middle aged women with a history of uterine myomas. It is characterized by multiple leiomyomatous lesions in many tissues and organs, especially in the lungs. We report the case of 56 years old woman presenting chronic cough, hemoptysis and having a history of myomectomy for a uterine leiomyoma 6 years ago. Chest CT showed a right pulmonary process. The histological diagnosis was defined by bronchoscopy and biopsies. The surgery was not an
option because of the bronchovascular extension of the tumor, so hormonal therapy was administrated to the patient. One year later, Chest CT showed that the tumor doesn’t increase.

Successful Treatment of Acquired Amegakaryocytic Thrombocytopenia (AAT) with Cyclosporine and Eltrombopag: A Case Report
Acquired amegakaryocytic thrombocytopenia is an unusual hematological disorder characterized by severe thrombocytopenia in association with a marked decrease, or the absence, of megakaryocytes in bone marrow. Its pathogenesis is not well understood and its clinical course is variable. Several treatments have been used, producing different responses. We present a case that was successfully treated with a calcineurin inhibitor combined with a thrombopoiesis-stimulating agent.
Antrochoanal Polyp Harboring Cholesterol Granuloma: A Case Study
Cholesterol granuloma (CG) is a foreign body reaction to the deposition and inadequate drainage of cholesterol crystals that are frequently found in association with chronic diseases. The clinical symptoms are non-specific. The differential diagnosis of CG includes cysts, mucocoeles and neoplasms. Radiological and histopathological findings are essential for diagnosis of CG. In this report it is aimed to introduce a case of CG in antrochoanal polyp with its clinical and histopathological findings.
Protocol for Root Canals’ Irrigation in Endodontic Practice in Ivory Coast: A Survey of 100 Dentists
In endodontics, a chemo-mechanical preparation is used to disinfect the root canal system. However, due to limitations of endodontic devices, which shape the main canal, this preparation is supplemented by irrigation solutions. In Ivory Coast, late consultations and advanced stages of pathologies characterized the endodontics.
Investigation on Silver Ion Release from Wound Dressings In Vitro and In Vivo
Introduction: In recent years, silver ion based dressings have been widely developed and approved in the market. Meanwhile, methods for selecting appropriate standard models to investigate the silver ion release in vitro and in vivo remains unknown with regard to the safety assessment.Methods and Results: In this study, we have identified that silver ion release in eagle minimum essential mediums(MEM) with 10% fetal calf serum had shown better release kinetics in comparison to other vehicles including simulated body fluid (SBF), 0.9% physiological saline, and 5% glucose.
Clinical and Pathological Changes in the Offspring of Rats with Torsio Uteri
We investigated the histopathological changes observed in the brains, organs, and apoptotic changes in the brain of young rats born from rats with torsio uteri that survive. We divided 10 Sprague-Dawley rats with a gestational age of 18-19 days into two groups. The rats in group 1 (i.e., the control group; n=5) were given anesthesia only; the rats in group 2 (study group; n=5) underwent a 360-degree clockwise torsion in their uterus, and the torsion was corrected after 6 hours. The births of the offspring were followed, and 7 female and male offspring 1 month of age were selected in each group. The vaginal openings of the young female offspring were checked to determine the time to reach puberty. The 1-month-old male offspring and the mature young female rats were then decapitated. Tissue samples, including visceral organs, genital organs, and brains, were evaluated by histapathologically; we also investigated apoptosis via the TUNEL method. Although no abortion was observed in any of the pregnant rats in the control group, two abortions were observed in the study group after torsion/detorsion.
Preparation of Large Area Anodic Alumina Membranes and their Application to Thin Film Fuel Cell
The design of an electrochemical reactor for the preparation of self-supported comparatively thin (up to 10 μm) and large area (up to 50 cm2) anodic alumina membranes is described allowing growth of porous alumina at high applied potential (up to 150 V) without burning.
Fabrication of Vertical Cu2ZnSnS4 Nanowire Arrays by Two-Step Electroplating Method into Anodic Aluminum Oxide Template
Vertical Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) nanowire arrays have been synthesized via two-step electroplating method into anodized aluminum oxide template. For deposition of CZTS nanowires, anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) was used as the growth mask for the growth of the nanowires. AAO templates with hole sizes of 70 nm in diameter were used in the experiments.
