Diverse Feed, Diverse Benefits - The Multiple Roles of Feed Diversity at Pasture on Ruminant Livestock Production - a Review

Several scientists called for a new paradigm in animal nutrition by implementing feed diversity in otherwise homogeneously fed livestock production systems as former was shown to have a notable impact on animal productivity and health and the ecological footprint thereby decrease concerns regarding global food security from a societal perspective. However, there are no specific definitions and no threshold values available, so far, for desired grazed grassland feed diversity levels on pastures that enable envisaged sustainable ruminant livestock production and possibly the production of animal products with particular human health-values. Therefore, we conceptualize grazed grassland feed diversity in multiple layers for the very first time in this review to define its relevance from an animal perspective and implications for human health. The data reviewed reveals a close relationship between grazed grassland feed diversity with regard to plant secondary metabolites and animal characteristics that include animal health, welfare, and behavior as well as product quality with possible human health value.

Idiopathic Pulmonary Hemosiderosis in a Middle-Aged Woman: a Case Report

Idiopathic pulmonary hemosiderosis (IPH) extremely rarely occurrs in adults according to current literature.We report one case of IPH in a middle-aged woman presenting with extensive central-predominant ground glass opacities and consolidation in the lungs. Since these imaging findings are not specific and can be similar to other diffuse pulmonary diseases, it is essential to have an deep understanding of this disorder. Imaging findings must be combined with clinical laboratory examination to make a diagnosis of IPH. Transbronchial lung biopsy (TBLB) is the gold standard for evaluation of suspected patients. We review the current literature and provide a recommendation based on discussion.

Multidetector CT Imaging of Squamous Cell Carcinoma of Buccal Mucosa

This study aims at describing the CT imaging findings and role of multidetector computed tomography (MDCT) in evaluation of squamous cell carcinoma of buccal mucosa and its staging. Primary Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma of the Mandibular Bone, an Extremly Rare Case Report

Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) is a rare epithelial neoplasm, that may affect the salivary glands. It comprises 30% of epithelial minor salivary gland tumors. We present the case of a 56-year-old non-smoking woman with no significant medical history. The MRI finds a lesional process involving the right hemi mandible, the right buccal floor, which extends towards the region of the masticators and infiltrates the submandibular gland. Review Article: Managing Spinal Cord Injury on Anesthesiologists’ Perspective

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is trauma to the area of the vertebrae resulting in spinal cord lesions resulting in neurological disorders, depending on the location of the spinal nerve damage and the injured nerve tissue. The symptoms of SCI can range from pain and paralysis to incontinence. SCI due to trauma is estimated to occur in 30-40 per million population per year, and about 8,000- 10,000 sufferers each year; generally, occurs in adolescents and young adults. Although the annual incidence of events is relatively low, the cost of care and rehabilitation for spinal cord injuries is very high, at around US $ 53,000 / patient.

Picture Fuzzy Grey Approach for Decision Problems with unknown Weight Information

Cuong’s picture fuzzy set (PFS) has more capability to grip the uncertainties in real-life decision-making problems as compare to intuitionistic fuzzy set. The purpose of this paper is to introduce a new Grey approach in which the attribute values takes from the picture fuzzy numbers, attribute weights information is unknown and develop a multi criteria decision making approach to study the interaction between the input argument under the picture fuzzy environment. The main advantage of the proposed technique is that, it can deal with the situations of the positive interaction, negative interaction or non-interaction among the criteria, during decision-making process. Finally, a numerical approach is demonstrated for implementation of proposed technique and show that how proposed technique is reliable and effective is illustrated.

Automated Polyp Detection System in Colonoscopy Using Deep Learning and Image Processing Techniques

Undetected colonic polyps are considered a major cause of interval cancer of the colon. The Automatic Polyp Detection System (APDS) (Magentiq Eye LTD, Haifa, Israel) was developed to enhance the ability of endoscopists to detect polyps during screening colonoscopy. It is designed to be used both in real-time and offline. APDS runs directly on the video output of the endoscopic camera and highlights the polyp on the screen. APDS utilizes the power of Deep Learning and Computer Vision in order to improve polyp detection rates thus improving the performance of the endoscopist.
