Hand-Foot-and-Mouth Disease (HFMD) is an epidemic childhood illness caused by enteroviruses including enterovirus A71 (EVA71), coxsackievirus A16 (CV-A16) and coxsackievirus A6 (CV-A6). This disease mainly affects children under 5 years of age, causing typical skin rash such as papulovesicular rash on the palms, feet, and mouth. However, atypical clinical signs may include eruption in others anatomic sites, palmar and plantar desquamation and onychomadesis. Severe complications including encephalitis, myocarditis or meningitis can occur.
Nutritional Status of Under-5 Children of Forcibly Migrated People Living in Ukhia, Cox Bazar, Bangladesh
In today’s print and electronic media, terms like ‘forced migration’ and ‘refugee’ are some of the most frequently used words. Globally there have been an outrageously large number of forced migrations, rendering hundreds of thousands of people homeless and stateless. Starting with the Syrian war in 2011 to the latest round of military atrocity in Myanmar in August 2017, millions of people have sought refuge in neighboring countries. The Rohingya is a group of refugees from Myanmar who have been residing in Bangladesh since the 1970s. At present, there is no published information on health and nutritional status of refugee children in Bangladesh. This study was conducted to assess nutritional status of the Rohingya children aged 6 months to 5 years old (n=114). Children were measured for weight and height while their guardians were interviewed. About 86% of the Rohingya children were underweight, 64.9% stunted, 82.1% thin and 1.8% at risk of overweight. Severe acute malnutrition (MUAC<11.5 cm) children was 68.5%. As refugees have limited access to health care services, they are at greater risk of health and nutritional problems. This study sheds light on the refugee under-5 children situation through a nutrition lens.

Accelerated aging and higher co-morbidity prevalence have increased non-antiretroviral (ARV) medications for HIV patients. We examined, over a 12 month period, non-ARV medication burden among HIV-positive patients 18-49 and ≥50 years using a comprehensive U.S. healthcare claims database in an age-and-gender matched analysis (1:3 matching ratio of cases to controls). Primary outcomes of interest included the median and mean number of unique non-ARV drug substances during the one month period with the highest number of prescriptions filled for each individual, and the mean number of unique classes of medication.

Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Arthritic Efficacy and Safety of Purified Shilajit in Moderately Arthritic Dogs
The objective of this investigation was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of purified Shilajit in moderately arthritic dogs. Ten client-owned dogs in a randomized double-blinded study received either a placebo or Shilajit (500 mg) twice daily for a period of five months. Dogs were evaluated each month for physical condition (body weight, body temperature, heart rate, and respiration rate) and pain associated with arthritis (overall pain, pain from limb manipulation, and pain after physical exertion).
