A Health Model Based on the Clinical Practice of Manual Therapists
Introduction: The evolution of health models occurred along with the changes of the definition of health and rehabilitation but it is still unknown the predominant model of health that fits the clinical practice of physiotherapists who work in manual therapy.
Aim(s): Creation of a questionnaire to assess the health model that fits the clinical practice of physiotherapists and after application,
Switching Darunavir/Ritonavir to Darunavir/Cobicistat in Clinical Practice Experience with 150 patients through 48 weeks
Darunavir (DRV) boosted with ritonavir (RTV) is currently among the preferred antiretroviral agents. Cobicistat (COBI), a new cytochrome P450 inhibitor is replacing RTV as pharmacoenhancer. Coformulated DRV/COBI has been approved based on bioequivalence data; however, results on efficacy and safety in clinical practice are scarce. COBI inhibits creatinine tubular secretion, thus raising concerns about its renal safety.
Labetalol in Comparison to Methyl Dopa in Treatment of Gestational Hypertension, A Randomized Trial
To evaluate the value and safety of labetalol in comparison to Alfa methyldopa in treatment of pregnant women with pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH). 264 patients with PIH were randomly distributed to take either methyldopa (group 1) labetalol (group 2). or Intake of medications with respect to Age, gravidity, Blood Pressure measurement, albumin in urine measurement Levels, Side Effects, dose of the drug, increasing duration of pregnancy, mode of delivery, Perinatal safety and APGAR scores were studied. The statistical level of significance was taken at P<0.05.
Case Reports: Contribution to Clinical Practice, Scholarly Education, and Scientific Knowledge
Case reports have been a method of scientific communication in the medical literature. Cases describing a clinical challenge faced by physicians and providing well-reasoned recommendations serve an important function in the clinical practice. Other values of case reports include generating clinical hypotheses and promoting scholarly education. They enhance critical thinking for practicing physicians, residents, and medical students. A case report can raise conceptual questions about particular clinical observation with the goal to generate a clinical hypothesis. This article highlights the value of case reports and describes their role in advancement of medicine with the intent to increase and improve case reporting.
