Protected Viticulture for Sustainable Grape Production to Cope with the Adverse Effects of Climate Change
Grapes (Vitis vinifera L.) are among the most commonly cultivated horticultural crops on the earth covering an area of 7.5
million hectares with around 70 million tons production. Grapes being highly nutritious are majorly utilized in making beverages or used as fresh and raisin. In today’s world, the most concerned topic in agriculture is continuous change in climatic
conditions leading to several negative social, ecological, economical and biological problems. Grapes are delicate fruits, their
vines are sensitive towards extremes in temperature, water, heat, duration and intensity of light exposure as well as carbon
dioxide and humidity alterations. Hence, one can shift to drought and heat tolerant varieties and certain training and pruning methods suitable to the prevailing environmental conditions. Vineyard management practices, including farm mechanization can be amended for improving the gains, while reducing the input
A Review of the Effects of Intensive Poultry Production on the Environment and Human Health
Poultry farming is widely recognized as a highly efficient technique of animal husbandry, contributing significantly to the
nutritional security of a substantial portion of the global population. The application of contemporary intensive farming
methods has facilitated a notable increase in global production, which has reached a substantial quantity of 137.8 million
tons in the year 2021. This upward trajectory has been consistently observed over successive years. However, these aggressive growth tactics result in a substantial environmental impact. The appropriate management of waste items, such as poultry litter and manure, is crucial due to their potential to significantly impact both environmental and human health. The
emissions of ammonia, nitrous oxide, and methane are associated with poultry production and the disposal of its waste by-products. These emissions have significant implications for global greenhouse gas emissions, as well as the well-being of
both animals and humans
Explorations of the Combined Effects of Surface Energy, Initial Stress and Nonlocality on the Dynamic Behaviour of Carbon Nanotubes Conveying Fluid Resting on Elastic Foundations in a Thermo-Magnetic Environment
The vibrations of carbon nanotubes under the influences of various internal and external forces have been subjects of interests
for some years. These researches have not really considered the effects of surface energy and initial stress which are very
important from both material and mechanical aspects of views. Therefore, the current study presents the simultaneous
impacts of surface energy, initial stress and nonlocality and other various parameters on the nonlinear vibration of carbon
nanotube hot fluid-conveying resting on elastic foundations in a magnetic environment. The derived equations governing the
behaviours are solved using Galerkin’s decomposition-Adomian decomposition method is adopted to explore the concurrent
impacts of surface elasticity, initial stress, residual surface tension and nonlocality on the nonlinear vibration of singlewalled carbon conveying nanotube resting on linear and nonlinear elastic foundation and operating in a thermo-magnetic
environment

Unfolded Protein Response in Cereals, A Dynamic Signaling Pathway Involved in Response to Environmental Stresses
Stress of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) is induced by the accumulation of misfolded proteins in this organelle. It can be triggered by biotic and abiotic stress (particularly heat), but also by chemical treatments (such as DTT and tunicamycin) at a laboratory scale. To respond to this stress, various cellular mechanisms are involved, including the highly conserved protein
repair pathway, the UPR (Unfolded Protein Response). This pathway aims to restore protein homeostasis in cells. In cereals, seed storage proteins (SSP) represent one of the characteristics that determine grain quality and are of great interest to agriculture. Unlike dicots, the dynamics of the UPR induction pathway in monocots are poorly documented in the literature.
Pollutant Emissions of Vehicle Tyres and Pavement in Real Driving Conditions
Non-exhaust road transport emissions, particularly tyre-pavement abrasion, contribute to poor air quality. This original work is on particle emissions caused by tyre-pavement abrasion in real driving conditions in urban, suburban and motorway areas. The collected data were analyzed according to the size, the number and chemical identification. Multivariate analysis provided clusters of size and chemical elements. Results showed the predominant particles (diameter φ < 1 μm and φ ε]1-2 μm]) for urban and suburban experiments, and ]1- 3 μm] on motorways. A confirmed shift phenomenon at the close-to-the-source showed particles of large sizes [5- 10 μm]. The obtained clusters were: 1. Aluminosilicate, iron compounds, silicate free of aluminum (70%). 2. Ferrosilicon, silica, compounds of calcium, manganese, iron oxide, compounds of aluminum, sulfur, copper and zinc (29%). 3. A mix of various traces (1%). This paper will contribute to the development of new green technologies dedicated to improving sustainable road transport.

Occurrences of Dairy Calf Mortality and Morbidity and the Associated Risk Factors in Sululta and its Environs, Central Ethiopia
Calf morbidity and mortality are important causes of economic losses on dairy farms worldwide. A cross-sectional study and clinical observation was conducted from November 2016 to April 2017 with the objective of determining calf morbidity and mortality and to investigate the potential risk factors for mortality and morbidity in Sululta and its environs. A total of 312 respondents engaged in market oriented small holder dairying were interviewed using a structured questionnaire survey about their farm and calf management practices and major calf health problems encountered and diseases that causes mortality. The overall magnitude of morbidity and mortality of calves were 31.0% and 58.37%, respectively. The major calf diseases found were diarrhea (69.34%), pneumonia (16.54%), liver fluke (2.4%), bloat (2.0%), joint ill (2.4%) and other cases (8.04%). Risk factors such as weaning age, breed and awareness of colostrums, feeding of calf and overall farm management were included. In this study 80.3% of calf mortality occurs under age 3 month and 19.42% is above 3 month. Based on laboratory examination, Salmonella and E.coli were detected from diarrheic calves. Salmonella found at rate of 2/29 (3.6%) and E.coli found at only genus level. In conclusion, the magnitude of calf morbidity and mortality found in this study were much higher than economically tolerable level and could greatly affect the productivity of the dairy farms through mainly decreasing the availability of replacement stock and production of milk. It is therefore, suggested that implementation of improved calf and farm management practices and proper environmental protection in the study areas would significantly reduce calf mortality and morbidity.
