Value of Sugarcane Stalks in the Diet of Small Ruminants: Comparison of Protein Enrichment with Saccharomyces cerevisiae Produced By Solid-State Fermentation versus Protein Supplementation with Soybean Mea
A trial was carried out on growing lambs to compare conventional protein supplementation of sugarcane with soybean meal
with Saccharomyces cerevisiae enrichment produced by solid-state fermentation. Yeast enrichment enabled sugarcane stalks
to increase their crude protein content from 4% to 12%. No difference was obtained between these two forms of supplementation on the daily growth of 80.2 and 76.8 g per day for enriched and non-enriched sugarcane respectively.

Therefore, simultaneously attenuation of these cellular abnormalities may help in reducing the risk of development, progression, and prolonging the effectiveness of drug therapy.
Molecular Characterization and Resistance Patterns of Multidrug MethicillinResistant Staphylococcus aureus Isolated from Wound
Staphylococcus aureus is a serious risk to public health as it triggers human infections ranges from wound abscess to life threatening states. As involvement to the global effort the objectives of this study were to examine the incidence of Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) in Taif region, Saudi Arabia. Moreover, this work aimed to estimate the relation between the phenotypic antibiotic susceptibility patterns and the antibiotic resistance genes mong MRSA isolates. A total of 67 wound specimens were taken from patients.
Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) was selected by growing on Mannitol Salt Agar supplemented with methicillin
(5 mg/l). The prevalence of methicillin-sensitive S. aureus (MSSA) and methicillin-resistant (MRSA) wound carriage among patients
was 51 and 49 %, respectively.
Cognitive Enhancers Derived from Edible Crops
The concept of an effective cognitive boosting nootropic supplement is gaining traction with consumers, neuroscientists and regulators
alike and it is therefore unsurprising that scientifically validated Nootropics are highly prized. New research demonstrates edible crops
could be useful sources to mine for new nootropics; plant extracts enriched with an array of cognitive enhancing metabolites. There is merit
in investigating these plant species. Metadata has identifies consuming specific fruit and vegetables positively affects cognitive function;
therefore these same edible crop plants present as opportunities for developing nootropic formulations. This hypothesis is supported
by positive data obtained through clinical testing [e.g. extracts of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum), herbs from the Genus Salvia, cocoa
(Theobroma), tea (Camellia sinensisor) and coffee (Coffea Arabica). This review will discuss clinically tested cognitive enhancers derived
from edible crop species and discuss their use alongside other classes of nootropics.
Unrelenting Gynecological Conflict: Isn’t it Time we all got along?
Over the past twenty-five years, a rupture has emerged between what I will term ‘gynecological purists’ and ‘gynecological futurists’. Members of the orthodox camp (the ‘purists’) maintain the existence of the uterus, the reality of oophorectomy, and, ultimately, the hope that we shall all one day die and be admitted to the RCOG. The futurists reject each of these three claims, offering instead the vision of a bleak universe in which there is no uterus, no possibility of oophorectomy, and nothing on the other side of death. In this paper, I will argue that the purists and the futurists represent two sides of the same coin, though they fail to recognise the fact. While gynecologists have spent the past two-and-a-half decades debating the eternal, I have been constructing a new branch of gynecology which returns to more central questions: how are we to live? Is there such a thing as truth? And, if so, can we know it?

Fish protein concentrated of Silver carp minced, was obtained in three steps using solvent (Isopropanol), drying and pressing using dry temperature (60 °C), and this concentrate had 93% protein, which according to Aquatic protein sources have a high nutritional value and are used to enrich other food products.
Availability and Knowledge of Iodized Salt at Household Level and Associated Factors at Debre Tabor Town, Northwest Ethiopia
IDDs are among the major public health problems of the world. Nearly two billion individuals worldwide and about 350 million Africans are at risk of iodine deficiency and face many risks from its deficiency and complications. Poor knowledge related to iodine diet and iodized salt utilization were some of the factors. Poor Educational status, Occupation and Sources of Information were frequently cited factors related to Knowledge on iodized salt consumption. Iodized salt is an effective and cheap method to prevent and
control iodine deficiency in the community.
Ampullary Localization of Unruptured Ectopic Pregnancy of Eighteen Weeks about a Case
Ectopic pregnancy is therefore implanted out of the normal implantation site of the uterine cavity. It is a surgical emergency that can compromise the vital prognosis and fertility of patients when the diagnosis is made at the stage of rupturing. Its incidence has doubled or even tripled in the world in the last two decades. Although it still remains the leading cause of maternal mortality in the first trimester by tubal rupturing accounting for 13% of maternal deaths this increase is closely linked to several factors such as sexually transmitted infections, history of salpingitis, tubal surgery, abortions, inert or progesterone associated IUD use and smoking. Tubal location is by far the most common (96 to 99% of cases). The clinical signs are therefore relatively late and the rupture of the tube is preceded by a fissure syndrome. We report a rare case of unruptured ampullary pregnancy that has evolved to 18 weeks.
Xeroderma Pigmentosum Groups C and A in Algerian Patients with Deregulation of both Transcription and DNA Repair
Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by an extreme sensitivity to UV rays from sunlight, a high incidence of skin cancer and occasional neurological symptoms. XP, primarily defined as a DNA repair syndrome, has been found associated with defects in the Nucleotide Excision Repair (NER) pathway, and more recently by transcriptional deregulation. XP results from mutations in eight genes (XPA to XPG and XPV) coding for proteins involved in NER.
Stress Induced Cortisol Response in Young Women Classified as Restrained and Unrestrained Eaters
Dietary restraint has been hypothesized to be a risk factor to develop disordered eating behavior with the consequence of clinical eating
disorders such as bulimia nervosa or binge eating disorder. Because of mostly unsuccessful dieting efforts restrained eaters are supposed
to suffer from stress, indicated by a higher cortisol response. The present investigation tested this hypothesis in 41 subjects undergoing a
laboratory stress test with the measurement of salivary cortisol. The results show lower stress induced cortisol in the restrained eaters. This
is discussed with regard to a possibly dysregulated intake behavior in restrained eaters.
Co-culture of Buccal Mucosal Epithelial Cells Downregulate CTGF Expression in Urethral Stricture Fibroblasts
Buccal mucosal urethroplasty has revolutionized the surgical management of urethral strictures but the success of the procedure has been variable in different series. We have attempted to understand the interplay between buccal mucosal epithelial cells (BME) and the fibroblasts at the molecular level using connective tissue growth factor (CTGF) as a marker so that translation of this information would help in better urethroplasty outcomes.
Materials and Methods: The morphological and functional characteristics of normal urethral fibroblasts (NUF) and urethral stricture fibroblasts (UStF) with and without co-culture with BMEs are compared. The intracellular and extracellular level of CTGF expression in the UStF co-cultured with BMEs was analyzed by using molecular biology methods.
Suspected Allergic Reaction in Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus)
Over the course of several years, three members of a Bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) group showed periodical bouts of pruritus and dermatological lesions. The affected animals were a 25-year-old cow and her 5 and 7-year-old offspring, all housed in a mixed indoor/outdoor facility. The signs were first noted in 2005 and escalated over time until 2012, when a final diagnosis of the problem was attempted. Diagnostic tests included blood analysis and skin biopsies, swab microbiological cultures from the wheals, intradermal tests and response to treatment with corticosteroids. Clinical picture and histopathological findings, as well as response to methylprednisolone, were considered compatible with an allergic dermatitis.
