The Use of Silver Nanoparticles Prepared by The Green Method to Reduce The Concentration of Nickel in Water

The present work aims to study a convenient and environmentally friendly method for the green synth of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs based on lemon juice extract. The biomolecules contained in lemon extract act as self- reducing and stabilizing agents. The optimal solution for the synthesis of AgNPs was determined by varying silver nitrate concentrations. A surface plasmon resonance system identified the synthesized silver nanoparticles by their color change from colorless to dark brown. Silver nanoparticles synthesized were characterized by Uv-visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HR-TEM), and FTIR spectroscopy. Dietary Supplementation of Zinc Oxide Nanoparticles on Growth, Haematological, and Biochemical Parameters of Koi Carp Cyprinus carpio var koi

The present study aimed at the dietary supplementation of zinc oxide nanoparticles on growth, haematological and biochemical parameters of Koi carp. The zinc oxide nanoparticles were synthesized and characterized using UV-VIS, SEM, EDAX, and FTIR. Six feeds were prepared with different quantities of synthesized zinc oxide nanoparticles (F1 - Control, F2 -20 mg, F3 – 40mg, F4 – 60mg, F5-80mg and F6 – 100mg) and feed ingredients are fish meal, groundnut oilcake, wheat flour, and tapioca flour.

Photodegradation, Antibacterial & Antioxidant Assessment of Multifunctional Zinc Oxide Metal Nanoparticles Using Smilax aspera Leaf Extract: An Eco Approach

The endeavor of this research accounts for a superficial green route scheme by using an extract of leaves of Smilax aspera as a stabilizing and capping agent. Zinc Oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) were examined through UV-visible Spectrophotometer, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), EDX (Energy Dispersive X-rays spectroscopy), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). The NPs demonstrates potential photo catalytic activity for the degradation of Methyl Orange (MO) and Methylene Blue (MB) dyes upon exposure to sunlight.

Synergistic Eeffect of Polyene Antifungals and Silver Nanoparticles Against Candida Parapsilosis

Candidiasis is a fungal infection caused by yeasts of the genus Candida spp. Among several pathogenic Candida species, we can highlight the C. parapsilosis due to susceptibility profile. Amphotericin B and nystatin are polyene antifungal drugs most frequently used to combat this type of infection. Silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) also have antifungal properties and can also provide synergistic action when combined with classic antifungals. Therefore, the aim of this study was evaluate the synergistic action of AgNPs, amphotericin B and nystatin against C. parapsilosis.

Formation of Gold Nanoprisms on Atomically Flat Mica Surface

A numerous methods are being used for synthesis of gold nanoparticles (NPs) in liquid media, in micelles and at different interfaces. The size and geometry of NPs depend on parameters of synthesis. Here we propose the growth of Au NPs on atomically flat mica surfaces. In such conditions the monocrystalline and isotropic NPs are being simultaneously formed on the surface.

Long Exposure to CdS-Dextrin Nanoparticles Induces an Immunomodulatory and Anti-Inflammatory Effect in Rats

Male Wistar rats were treated daily and intraperitoneally with CdS-Dextrin nanoparticles (100 μg/kg) during 30, 60, and 90 days. The effect of subacute and chronic administration of CdS-Dextrin nanoparticles on CD4/CD8 subpopulations of thymocytes, spleen-derived T cells, and peripheral blood CD4/CD8/CD3 T cells were analyzed by flow cytometer using a Rat T Lymphocyte Cocktail. An indirect ELISA kit analyzed cytokine Th1/Th2 levels. A DNA content and cell cycle analysis was carried out in bone marrow cells by flow cytometry. We also analyzed the presence of CdS-Dextrin nanoparticles in the thymus and spleen.

Investigation of Graphene Oxide in Diesel Soot

NanotechnologyAbstractIntroductionGraphene has emerged as a potential material in various scientific disciplines, ranging from material science, engineering, and more recently biomedicine. The paper describes the investigation of the presence of graphene and graphene oxide (GO) in the carbon soot of internal combustion diesel engines. The UV-Visible, Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), X- ray diffraction (XRD), Photoluminescent (PL) and Raman spectroscopic analysis of the sample provided a conclusive evidence of the formation of graphene and GO. The Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) and Energy Dispersive Spectrum (EDX) of the sample show carbon nanoparticles (CNPs) of size less than 50nm.

Anodic Oxidation of Titanium in Sulphuric Acid and Phosphoric Acid Electrolytes

Anodisation of pure titanium has been carried out in sulphuric and in phosphoric acid solutions at potentials ranging from 50 to 150V. The SEM and AFM morphological analysis indicates that, within this potential range, oxidation in sulphuric acid solution produces better developed mesoporous oxide layers.
