Optical Depth Measurement of Self-Reversed Line Emitted from In-Homogenous Plasma in Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy
In this work, an original method is proposed and used for measurement of the optical depth of a self-reversed spectral line. A theoretical approach is utilized in an in homogenous laser induced plasma at local thermodynamic to simulate self-reversed line and then to get the main line profile without self-absorption. In this research, the spatial and temporal evolution of optical depth of two spectral lines of Ca II at 393.4 nm and 396,9 nm is studied. Furthermore, the variation of optical depth versus the concentration of species emitter inside of plasma plume is investigated. In addition, the validity of this method is affirmed during comparison with results obtained by other techniques.
Two Approaches in the Cosmetic Reabilitation of Patients with Post-Traumatic Subatrophy of the Eyeball
To define groups of patients who may hold prosthetics subatrophic eyes and removes the eye with subsequent prosthetics. Under observation from 2010-2017 was 152 patients with posttraumatic subatrophy (the average age is 46.1 years), divided into 2 groups: 1-102(67,1%) patient who underwent enucleation with the for-mation of the locomotor stump - 56 (55,0%), evisceration - 46 (45,0%); and group 2 - 50 (32.9%) and patients who have had prosthetic subatrophic eyes.
Mckittrick-Wheelock Syndrome and Diabetes Insipidus
Secretory villous adenoma is characterized with watery diarrhea, which may lead to dehydration, with resulting volume depletion, electrolyte imbalance, circulatory failure and renal dysfunction. We hereby report a case of villous adenoma associated with severe electrolyte imbalance complicated by diabetes insipidus.
Neonatal Endotracheal Tubes and Prevention of Bronchial Intubation
Right main stem bronchial intubation (RMSBI) causes morbidity during neonatal assisted ventilation. Over-distention of the right middle and/or lower lobes of the lung and under-ventilation and/or atelectasis of the remaining lung are the major complications of RMSBI [1,2]. Complications of RMSBI include a) over-inflation of a pulmonary lobe (lobar emphysema), b) pulmonary interstitial emphysema, c) pneumothorax, and/or d) pneumomediastinum [3]. In very preterm infants, pneumothorax correlates with the pathophysiology of intraventricular hemorrhage [4].
Developing and Testing Nutrition Messages for Asian Indian Mothers
To develop and test nutrition messages for Asian Indian mothers addressing eight feeding behaviors likely to influence children’s dietary intake and weight.
Juvenile Ossifying Fibroma - WHO Type
Juvenile ossifying fibroma is an uncommon clinical entity, its aggressive local behaviour and high recurrence rate mean that it is important
to make an early diagnosis, apply the appropriate treatment and, especially, follow the patient up over the long term. In the
current article we report a case of juvenile ossifying fibroma-WHO type in 12yr old patient which was clinical and histopathologically
challenging as it was asymptomatic and at an unusual location.
Olfactory Neuroblastoma (Esthesioneuroblastoma) following Retro-Orbital Irradiation for Graves’ Ophthalmopathy
We describe a case of radiation-induced olfactory neuroblastoma in a patient with a history of radiation for Graves’ ophthalmopathy. We also reviewed the literature and found four other cases of radiation-induced olfactory neuroblastoma reported since 2000, suggesting prior radiotherapy as one risk factor for this disease.
Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Arthritic Efficacy and Safety of Purified Shilajit in Moderately Arthritic Dogs
The objective of this investigation was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of purified Shilajit in moderately arthritic dogs. Ten client-owned dogs in a randomized double-blinded study received either a placebo or Shilajit (500 mg) twice daily for a period of five months. Dogs were evaluated each month for physical condition (body weight, body temperature, heart rate, and respiration rate) and pain associated with arthritis (overall pain, pain from limb manipulation, and pain after physical exertion).
