Disseminated Blastomycosis: A Case Report
Blastomycosis is known for its propensity to mimic other illnesses, which often leads to incorrect or delayed treatment. Here we present a case report of a patient working in Wisconsin who was misdiagnosed as Tuberculosis since he was an Indian. The patient was not evaluated on endemic grounds for Blastomyces where he was working for couple of years. After he developed skin lesions along with increased shortness of breath, lesions were evaluated which showed large yeast cells resembling Blastomyces. The treating pulmonologist evaluated his occupational history and was revealed with endemicity for Blastomyces.
Fulminant Emphysematous Pyelonephritis: Case Report and Revision of the Literature
A 56-year-old woman with type 2 diabetes mellitus and multiple sclerosis presented to our emergency department with right flank pain, fever (38.6°) and dysuria. A computed tomography (CT) scan showed the right kidney hydronephrosis secondary to ureteral stone, therefore a percutaneous nephrostomy was placed. The next day the patient’s condition deteriorated rapidly; a new CT showed the presence of gas in the right kidney suspicious for emphysematous pyelonephritis (EPB) that needed an emergency nephrectomy. Thirtyfive days later the patient was discharged in good general condition.
Numerical Analysis on the Electromechanical Behaviors and Piezotronic Effects Controlled by the Applied of Initial Stress
Based on the linear three-dimensional elastic theory, shear horizontal (SH) wave propagation along the normal direction to the piezoelectric semiconductor plate (PSC) was obtained in the presence of initial horizontal and vertical stresses. The purpose behind obtaining the numerical solutions was to evaluate the effect of stress on dimensionless frequency and phase velocity.

Evaluation of the Autistic Children Motor Skills: Research Project Proposal
Imitation is considered as a platform for interdisciplinary studies where social sciences, cognitive psychology, neurobiology and neurocybernetics interact, as well as clinical psychology. It is often used to explore various and several scientific fields but few works have investigated a series of linked successive motor actions. The current work aimed to study and expand the findings regarding which information subjects of different populations selected and included for reproducing demonstrated model ’actions. 120 children of 6
age groups divided between 3 years and 8 years, associated to autistic and deficient children were tested in this present study. This developmental scale completed, should provide a baseline for understanding in what type of constraints the autistic child would be specifically deficient in the management of his imitation. The comparison with mentally deficient children also seemed indispensable. The children’s imitative responses were videotaped, coded in dichotomy data, and then put into percentage. Our expected goal is to
characterize the traits of autistic motor skills in reference to normal and mentally deficient development.
The Influence of Meteorological Parameters on Indoor and Outdoor Radon Concentrations: A Preliminary Case Study
In this study the influence of meteorology on indoor and outdoor radon concentrations in four different locations in a Mediterranean country have been studied. Indoor, daily radon concentrations were generally higher (0.2 – 85.0 Bq m-3) than outdoor daily concentrations (0.8 – 3.6 Bq m-3) in all locations studied with the exception of one that was built on pylons, thus reducing infiltration of radon
from the ground. Indoor and outdoor meteorological parameters influence both the indoor and outdoor radon concentrations. In particular, outdoor wind speed and relative humidity show a negative correlation with both outdoor and indoor concentrations at all locations. Radon concentrations were also measured at two different levels of a terraced house (a common household type in Malta),
in the basement and on ground floor.

Falooda ice cream is a sweet and delicious so it also contains too much sugar that is necessary for our health and maintaing blood glucose level but by eating too much it can cause hyperglycemia. Hyperglycemia may damage eyes, blood vessels and kidneys. There is significant relation between falooda ice cream loving and blood glucose.
A Traumatic Context Can Hide a Sexual Rape
Aeric syndrome during a multiple trauma reflects the severity of this latter, which made mention to extra thoracic or intra thoracic lesion. This requires a good diagnostic and therapeutic strategy. We report the case of a young patient admitted to emergency in an array of closed multiple traumas where the etiological diagnosis was rare and unknown. This case highlights that a careful questioning and a good examination in admission can reveal earlier the diagnosis, the thing that was not well led in our case, because the patient was mute, anxious, and not cooperating making unnoticed rape history.
Ordered Growth of Anodic Aluminum Oxide in Galvanostatic and Galvanostatic-Potentiostatic Modes
The results are presented of obtaining anodic aluminum oxide with an ordered pore arrangement by employing two anodizing modes - galvanostatic mode and combined (galvanostatic + potentiostatic) mode, at high values of the current density and voltage. Use has been made of an oxalate electrolyte and a complex electrolyte comprising oxalic acid and phosphoric acid. Scanning electron microscopy has been used to investigate the surface morphology of the barrier and porous layers and to determine pore sizes and inter-pore distance.
Electronic-nose Applications in Forensic Science and for Analysis of Volatile Biomarkers in the Human Breath
The application of electronic-nose (E-nose) technologies in forensic science is a recent new development following a long history of progress in the development of diverse applications in the related biomedical and pharmaceutical fields. Data from forensic analyses must satisfy the needs and requirements of both the scientific and legal communities. The type of data collected from electronic-nose devices provides a means of identifying specific types of information about the chemical nature of evidentiary objects and samples under investigation using aroma signature profiles of complex gaseous mixtures containing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released from manufactured products and parts of the human body. E-nose analyses also provide useful qualitative information about the physicochemical characteristics and metabolic conditions of human subjects without the need for time-consuming analyses to identify all chemical components in human-derived volatile mixtures.
Characteristic Human Scent Compounds Trapped on Natural and Synthetic Fabrics as analyzed by SPME-GC/MS
The collection of human odor volatiles is of interest to forensic applications as a path to investigate canine scent discriminations in
legal investigations. A study using a selected array of previously identified human odor compounds has been conducted to determine
the retention and release capabilities of five (5) natural and synthetic fabric types, cotton (mercerized fabric and gauze matrix),
polyester, rayon and wool.
Preparation of Large Area Anodic Alumina Membranes and their Application to Thin Film Fuel Cell
The design of an electrochemical reactor for the preparation of self-supported comparatively thin (up to 10 μm) and large area (up to 50 cm2) anodic alumina membranes is described allowing growth of porous alumina at high applied potential (up to 150 V) without burning.
Fabrication of Vertical Cu2ZnSnS4 Nanowire Arrays by Two-Step Electroplating Method into Anodic Aluminum Oxide Template
Vertical Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) nanowire arrays have been synthesized via two-step electroplating method into anodized aluminum oxide template. For deposition of CZTS nanowires, anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) was used as the growth mask for the growth of the nanowires. AAO templates with hole sizes of 70 nm in diameter were used in the experiments.
