Bismuth Mass Fraction Determination in Thin Films by an ICP-AES Validated Method and Uncertainty Estimation
This paper covers the validation and measurement uncertainty evaluation of an ICP-AES method for bismuth mass fraction determination in bismuth sulfide thin films. Plasma view at radial mode and the wavelength were monitored for bismuth at 223.061 nm. Following AFNOR (Association Française de Normalisation) Norm NFT 90-210 (2009), a regression equation was calculated using single element bismuth standard solution prepared in the same matrix as samples. The linear range was between 0.2 and 2.0 mg L−1. Limits of detection (LOD) and quantification (LOQ) were calculated as 0.03 and 0.12 mg L−1, respectively. Recovery percentages were ranging between 91 and 109 %. Accuracy was found to be adequate. Estimated expanded uncertainty according to both GUM and EURACHEM guides was 3.1 %.
Evaluation of Characterization Results of Ru, Sb And V_Doped Sno2 Coatings Deposited by Using Produced and Commercial Targets
Ruthenium, Antimony and Vanadium doped and undoped tin oxide (SnO2) thin films were prepared by the R.F. Sputtering method. At the beginning of the thin film production studies, pellets were formed by pressing the filled and undoped tin oxide powders in the laboratory environment. The purpose of creating these pellets is to replace commercially purchased target material that acts as the coating material in the sputter coating device. The aim of the study is to use these pellets instead of this commercial target due to its disadvantages such as long lead time and expensiveness, and thus to produce easier, more diverse and high quality thin films. This study includes the synthesis of pure and doped thin films of tin oxide semiconductor material, which has a wide band gap and attracts attention with its wide spread use thanks to this feature, subjecting it to annealing process under different temperatures and times, and structural and morphological characterization studies: XRD, SEM, AFM, XPS, UV-Vis Spectrophotometer and Nano-hardness machine.
The study showed that doped and undoped tin oxide films showed similar properties to similar studies seen in the literature, so that the pellets formed in the laboratory environment functioned. No major structural difference was observed in the films produced as a result of the use of pellets and target. As a result of the findings of the study, it has been seen that it is a preliminary study for the investigation of gas sensing properties.
Soybean Lecithin-Based Extender Improves the Quality of Chilled Canine Sperm
Semen preservation technique includes chilling at 4-5 oC and cryopreservation at -196 oC. The role of extender enriched with protectant is essential for storing sperm. In order to evaluate the effects of different concentrations of soybean lecithin (SL) in Tris-based extender on quality parameters of chilled canine semen and subsequent potential. The Trisbased extenders with 0.5%, 1.0% or 2.0% SL (w/v) were used to store the sperm of French Bulldog; meanwhile, Tris-based extenders supplemented with 20.0% (v/v) egg yolk (EY) were used as the control group. Sperm samples in each group were stored at 4⁰C for 168 hours period.

A Simple Method for the Quantification of Atenolol from the Forensic Human Blood and Visceral Samples by High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography
A simple High-Performance Thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) method has been developed for determination of atenolol in human
blood and viscera. The mobile phase was ethyl acetate, acetone, ethyl alcohol, ammonia solution in the ratio of 45:45:7:3. The densitometry
scanning at 254 nm was found to be maximum absorption for standard atenolol. The standard and extracted atenolol from samples were
detected by HPTLC and confirmed with authenticated spectra at 254 nm. The quantity of the atenolol determined to be 1.6 µg for viscera
and 1.5 µg for blood sample.
Comparison of Statistical Techniques for Forecasting Malaria Cases in Ghana
Monthly data spanning from January 2008 to December 2017 were obtained from the District Health Information Management System (DHIMS) 2, Ghana Health Service. The four competing forecasting techniques that were applied to the Malaria cases data were the Seasonal Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (SARIMA), Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Exponential smoothing (ETS) and a Combination technique.
A Preliminary Evaluation Study to Determine the Effectiveness of Infra-Red Photography for the Rapid Visualisation of Gun Shot Residue on Fabric
Infrared (IR) photography has been shown to be a proficient technique for the examination of documents, blood traces and ageing of skin injuries. However, its application in relation to the visualisation of latent Gunshot Residue (GSR) deposits has, until now, been significantly under researched. This paper evaluates the effectiveness of IR photography as a rapid technique for GSR visualisation on different fabric types.
The Influence of Sodium on the Characterization of Cu(In,Ga)Se2 Thin Films Prepared by Three-Stage Deposition Process
The objective of this work is to investigate the influence of sodium on the characteristics of Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) thin films prepared by a three-stage deposition process with a MoNa back contact, in comparison to Mo/SLG. The XRD results show that all the CIGS thin films deposited onto Mo/SLG substrates have the (112) preferred orientation, rather than the (220/204) orientation of CIGS deposited onto Na-free substrates.
Timing is everything: Lipid and Energy Losses with Simulated Nasogastric Tube Feeds
To determine the proportion of human milk (pooled and homogenized) fat loss via feeding tube in a simulated 24-hour feeding cycle. Anonymous samples of frozen human milk were obtained, thawed and pooled (pHM) in a 1000 mL glass beaker with a magnetic stir bar. Eight syringes (30 mL each) were prepared and attached to 60” extension tubing and a 5 FR polyurethane or silicone nasogastric (NG) tube. Samples to test for pool uniformity were collected at the beginning, middle and end of syringe preparation. Milk was delivered sequentially via gravity, 30-minute or 60-minute infusion. Pooled human milk was analyzed for macronutrient content at the end of each feeding “cycle”. All scenarios were repeated using homogenized donor human milk (hDHM).
Communist Extremists, Islamic Supremacists, and Narco-Terrorists: A Forensic Sociological Threat Analysis of Radicalization within the Federative Republic of Brazil
This article presents a human terrain analysis of the Islamic radicalization occurring in Latin America and the infiltration of the Al-Qaeda terrorist network into the country of Brazil. The study used sociological investigative research methods conducted in Brazil, extensive ethnographic interviews collected in the major Brazilian cities of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, and intensive Brazilian Portuguese language immersion. The ethnographic research techniques examined the social, political, religious, and linguistic structures to gain an understanding of how Al-Qaeda operatives have established an operational base in Brazil. The study provides an early warning sociological intelligence assessment of the threat of radical Islam in Latin America.
Novel analytical technologies of Quality in the Sheep & Goat Dairy Sector
France, Greece, Italy, and Spain the major sheep and goat milk producers in Europe, got the initiative through an interim of 30 years (1985 – 2015), to organize - through IDF - 7 symposiums aiming at the upgrade of the Dairy Sector. One major interest was the milk quality. Stepwise, the efforts followed cow milk structural development in organizing the testing laboratory, the definition of quality in composition (fat, protein, lactose, total solids), in Hygienic (Total Bacteria Count, Somatic Cell Count, antibiotics residues and Aflatoxin M1 contamination), adulteration with water and detection of milk species. EU, by Decision 2002/657/EC, defined the rules for the Directive 96/23/EC, enumerated the testing methods, the demands in sampling procedures, the minimum limits of performance, the quality control (ISO 17025) and the interpretation of results. The equivalency of results from different laboratories, through ISO 17025, demanded the application of ISO analytical standards.

The Effects of the Film Thickness and Roughness in the Anodization Process of Very Thin Aluminum Films
The anodization of aluminum foils having micrometer thickness is a common process and results in hexagonally self-ordered alumina membranes. However, anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membranes fabricated from nanometer-thin films present new challenges to the anodization process, since aluminum films adheres poorly on supporting substrates and the smoothness of the film is highly related to the kind of substrate.

Fabrication of Vertical Cu2ZnSnS4 Nanowire Arrays by Two-Step Electroplating Method into Anodic Aluminum Oxide Template
Vertical Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) nanowire arrays have been synthesized via two-step electroplating method into anodized aluminum oxide template. For deposition of CZTS nanowires, anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) was used as the growth mask for the growth of the nanowires. AAO templates with hole sizes of 70 nm in diameter were used in the experiments.
