Formulation and Evaluation of Clindamycin Peel-Off Gel Face Mask against Acne Vulgaris
The main aim of this project is to formulate and evaluate Clindamycin peel-off gel face mask against Acne vulgaris. Peel off
gel mask of Clindamycin phosphate was formulated using different excipients like Triethanolamine, Carbopol, Polyvinyl Alcohol, Glycerine, Xanthan gum, and Benzyl alcohol. Formulation of different composition of polymer was formulated and
their pH, extrudability, homogeneity, spreadability, viscosity, washability and other parameters like drug content, permeability and drug release were evaluated. The result showed that the concentration of PVA and Carbopol which are the main polymers used in the formulations had effect on the drug content, drug release, permeability, spreadability and other parameters. The peel off mask prepared by using different concentration of these two polymers showed satisfactory result in all the
evaluated parameters.

Reversed-Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatography Procedure for the Determination of Isavuconazole in Human Plasma
Introduction: Isavuconazole is an antifungal drug used for treating patients with invasive fungal infections. Efficacy and safety of isavuconazole is monitored by measuring plasma isavuconazole concentration using LCMS which is a non-affordable method. We used the HPLC system with a UV detector to measure plasma Isavuconazole concentration.
Objective: Improved Reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography procedure with UV detection is described which is cost effective, simple, precise and easily processed for the measurement of Isavuconazole, a drug used to treat the patients with invasive fungal infections, in blood plasma. Method: The method involves protein precipitation, addition of ammonium dihydrogen phosphate and chromatographic separation on a Hypurity C18 Column using an isocratic mobile phase of acetonitrile and ammonium acetate buffer (pH 8.0, 10 mM) (55:45, v/v). The UV detection was performed at 285 nm. The method provides rapid resolution of Isavuconazole in a 50 uL injection.
Result: Lower limit of Quantification (LLOQ) is 0.25 μg/ml in a 50 uL injection volume for Isavuconazole with a recovery consistently > 100 %. The assay is validated over linear range of 0.25 to 10 μg/ml. The intra-assay precision is < 3.53 % and inter-assay is <6.38% relative standard deviation of Isavuconazole. The method demonstrated clean separation, clinically acceptable detection limit and a linear range upto 25 ug/mL.
Conclusion: The assay demonstrated applicability in quantifying the drug level and monitoring the therapeutic dose for maintaining effective biological level to have better response in fungal infected patients. The method is cheaper as compared to LC-MS/MS and Tandem Mass spectrometry and the results are reportable on the same day of blood collection.
The Present Scenario of Lathyrisum Regarding Public Health in 2021
Backgrounds: Neurolathyrism is a disease, which is linked with the consumption of Lathyrus sativus ( L. sativusi) pulse that contain the neurotoxin-beta-N-oxalyl-L-alpha-beta-diamino propionic acid (beta-ODAP). Patients with Lathyrisum suffer with gradual enhancement in spasticity and bony changes, which are responsible for appearing the crippling condition throughout life.
Objective: The present study has been done as to establish the present situation of L. sativusi consumption and Lathyrisum.
Materials and Methods:We performed the survey in the village of Mohammadabad Block of Gazipur district in Eastern Uttar Pradesh (a state with maximum population in India) which have population of million, and L. sativusi is the main pulse of the year, which sustains the economy of these populations.
Results:Out of 21,234 subjects L. sativusi eating population for more than 10 years, none had Lathyrisum. On contrary, to popular belief, this population enjoys various dishes made by L. sativusi pulse which in popular are local delicacy.
Conclusions:There is no evidence of L. sativusi causing Lathyrisum in 2021. On contrary, L. sativusi pulses have become an inheriting part of the food habits in these populations.
Genomic Asymmetry for Morphology in Allopolyploids within and Out of Brassica
The genomic asymmetry in the nonrandom retention and expression of controlling genes for some traits from one parental diploid is obvious in some natural and synthetic allopolyploids, and has the evolutionary implications. Here we review the genomic asymmetry for the morphological performance in three cultivated Brassica allotetraploids and some intergeneric allopolyploids within Brassicaceae species. For the phenotypic biases of Brassica allotetraploids, Brassica oleracea (genomes CC) is dominant over B. nigra (BB) and B. rapa (AA) in B. carinata (CCBB) and B. napus (CCAA), respectively, and B. nigra is dominant over B. rapa in B. juncea (BBAA), showing the C>B>A dominance hierarchy.
Buschke-Lowenstein Tumor of the Vulva: A Case Report
Buschke-Lowenstein tumor or giant condyloma acuminata is a rare disorder of the external genitalia, belonging to the
group of verrucous carcinomas, and usually affects immunocompromised men. Human Papillomavirus (HPV) 6 and 11
are potentially involved in the pathophysiology. A detailed questioning, a rigorous clinical examination and complementary imaging are important to establish an accurate lesion assessment and an adapted management. Wide surgical excision
is the treatment of choice.
Tricuspid Valvulectomy in Drug Addicts with Native Valve Endocarditis: A Case Series
From Jan –2004 to Dec-2004, five patients were referred to the surgical department with a diagnosis of endocarditis refractory to medical therapy. Patients were all male, age ranging 16 years to 28 years with a mean of 22 years. All of the five patients had native valve endocarditis of the tricuspid valve with a history of drug addiction in common. Their
presentations included, sepsis, failure and recurrent pulmonary embolism. Three of them had bacterial, while two had fungal infection which was proven after blood cultures. After resuscitation, stabilization and preoperative workup, tricuspid valvectomy was performed on these patients because of the destructive and irreparable nature of the native
valve. Fortunately, all had uneventful recovery after surgery. Pre-operatively these patients were treated with antibiotics and antifungals, and continued thereafter for almost 4 to 6 weeks in the post-operative period. Postoperatively there was significant tricuspid regurgitation in a subset of patients who had a follow-up. The Left Ventricular (LV) function
remained normal to moderate with a moderate pulmonary artery pressure. These patients were discharged on antibiotics and anti-failure medications as per the GDMT.
HIV Screening Scenarios and Targets to Achieve 90% Sero-Status Knowledge Over 2021-2025 in Morocco – Pioneer Use Case of the Goals HIV Testing Strategies Model in a Concentrated Epidemic
Morocco applied the Goals testing model, projecting alternative testing scale-up scenarios, varying coverage targets for 13 adult populations. The model was calibrated using program service delivery, spending and surveillance data (2015-2019), integrated bio-behavioural surveys, and national HIV estimates. It projects annual diagnoses by target group from undiagnosed prevalence and testing coverage, allowing for HIV-infected people self-selecting for testing, retesting and transitions between groups. Scenarios were
evaluated for knowledge status improvement and cost, focusing on 2023-2025.
In vitro Digestibility of Indian Bamboo (Bambusa vulgaris) Leaves Associated with Stylosanthes guianensisin Ruminants
The study of the in vitrodigestibility of Indian bamboo (Bambusa vulgaris) leaves associated with Stylosanthes guianensisin ruminants
was conducted in April 2019 in the Animal Production and Nutrition Research Unit of the University of Dschang. A bovine ruminal
fluid, a source of energy (B. vulgaris) and a nitrogen source (S.guianensis) with or without polyethylene glycol (PEG) were used. A
sample of rations based on B. vulgarisassociated with 0; 20 and 30% of S.guianensis, with or without PEG was removed, dried and
milled to determine the chemical composition and evaluation of in vitrodigestibility. Results of this study showed that the addition
of legume increased the total nitrogen content (MAT) (12.87, 13.03 and 13.56% DM) when the B. vulgariswas associated with 0; 20
and 30% S.guianensis.
Greater Trochanter Avulsion Associated with Posterior Hip Dislocation
Hip dislocation occurs when axial loading force is transmitted through intact femoral shaft to the hip joint leading to a posterior dislocation of the femoral head with or without posterior acetabular fracture. However dislocation of the hip with associated fracture of the trochanter, neck or shaft of femur is uncommon in literature. We present the case of a 56 year old patient who fell from a height. Clinical and imaging [radiography, CT] examination revealed a comminuted greater trochanteric fracture associated with ipsilateral posterior hip dislocation.
Developing Sigmoid Volvulus after Medical Disimpaction of a Patient with Stool Impaction: A Case Report
Stool impaction is an ailment resulted from chronic constipation which commonly found in the elderly population. It causes wide range of potential complications if not promptly diagnosed and treated. These complications doubled when elder people experience other comorbidities. A case of an 80 years old lady with advanced dementia, bedridden and non-communicating is presented for clinical study. This patient who was presented with abdominal distention and changes in her mental status was found to have stool impaction based on the clinical and radiological test conducted to her.
A Novel Neuroprotective and Antioxidative Efficacy of a Unique Combination of Standardized Huperzia serrata, Convolvulus pluricaulis and Celastrus paniculatus Extracts
Physical and environmental stress in conjunction with hectic lifestyle and unhealthy food habits are the major cause of diverse neurodegenerative disorders. Oxidative neuronal injury and acetylcholine deficiency have a major impact on learning and memory retention. Most of the treatment strategies are based on the improvement of cholinergic function in the brain and one of the emerging therapeutic targets is to enhance the acetylcholine level in the brain. Standardized botanical extracts including Huperzia serrata (1% Huperzine A, CogniUp), Convolvulus pluricaulis (SP) and Celastrus paniculatus (JY) have been demonstrated to attenuate brain function by serving as a natural acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor.
Proximal Avulsion of Ulnar Collateral Ligament of the Thumb
Injuries of the Ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) of the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint of the thumb are relatively common and well described in the literature. Stener lesion refers to the displacement of the avulsed distal end of the UCL, moving to lie over the adductor aponeurosis making the chances of spontaneous healing impossible [1].
Epidemiological Profile of Congenital Cardiopathy Neonatal Revelation in Tehran
Congenital heart disease is the most common congenital disorder in newborns represents a major cause of perinatal death. The prevalence of these malformations is still unrecognized in Tunisia because of the lack of a national register. The aim of this study was describe the epidemiological and clinical aspects of the heart diseases with neonatal diagnosis in Tunisia.
Positive Efficiency of Combine Immunotherapy in Immunocompromised Girls with Recurrent Nonspecific Chronic Vulvovaginitis
Nonspecific chronic vulvovaginites (NCVV) are a frequent clinical sign of immune deficiency, especially in young girls. The established problems with the functioning of various parts of the immune system (IS) in this pathology dictate the need to include immunomodulatory therapy into the complex. The developed program of combined immunotherapy for immunocompromised girls allows reducing the severity and duration of exacerbation of NCVV, their frequency against the background of a significant reduction in ARVI incidence. Positive clinical effects were observed with underlying restoration in IS functioning. A protective effect was obtained (observation in a catamnesis for 1 year): the duration of a clinically safe period increased from 6 to 11-11.5 months per year.
