A Review of General Policies and Regulations of Solid Waste Management in Saudi Arabia
Municipal or household solid wastes are generated from several sources in Saudi Arabia and more than 80% of population is concentered
in different urban areas and solid waste generation in three largest cities in Saudi Arabia such as Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam where
variable human activities are encountered.
Effect of the Seasons on the Change of Morphological, Histo-Cytological and Hormonal Parameters of the Thyroid Gland in Cattle in Algeria
This study was carried out to study the peculiarities of the topography, the macrostructure and the analysis of the structural and functional organization patterns of the parenchyma of the thyroid gland of dairy cows (local breed from the Souk Ahras region, Algeria). A complex of macroscopic and histological techniques was used, as well as immunohistochemical staining of thyroid gland sections to identify localization characteristics of thyrocyte populations in the parenchyma.
Establishing a Special Open Field Test Appliance for Tree Shrews Evaluates their Stressed Locomotor Behavior
It has a great significance to establish a high repetitive and special system to evaluate locomotion for tree shrew animal models,
especially neuropsychiatric models. Thus, we designed a special open field test appliance for tree shrews by using a polymer PMMA
board (plexiglass). The locomotion of naïve tree shrews was detected twice in it. By using Any-maze Software tracing the motion
trajectory, we found that the motion trajectory and the distance were very similar in both tests. It demonstrated that the appliance
designed for tree shrews had extremely high reliability and stability.
Assessment of the Food Base and Eating Behaviour of Camels in Different Regions of the World
Present study was planned in order understand the surveillance, browsing behavior and nutritive value of camel browse vegetations.
Review of literatures indicated that camel is mostly found at arid and semi-arid areas of the world where average rain fall becomes less
than 350 mm per year. The estimated population in the world is 19 million, among which 17 million are supposed to be one-humped
dromedary camels (Camelus dromedarius) and 2 million two-humped Bactrian camels (Camelus bactrianus).
Assessing Satisfaction and Motivation of Health Extension Workers (Hews) and Factors Associated with it in Gambella Region, Gambella, Southwest Ethiopia, 2018: A Cross-Sectional Study
Health extension workers (HEWs) are the frontline health workers for Ethiopia’s primary health care system.
Occupational Exposure to Blood and Bodily Fluids among Health Care Workers in a Medical Teaching Hospital
The objective of this study was to evaluate blood and bodily fluids exposure through needlestick injuries (NSI) and non-percutaneous incidents among healthcare workers (HCWs). This project utilized a dataset collected from J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, between January 1, 2014 and August 15, 2017. Data included de-identified codes of employees, occupations, types of exposure to bloodborne pathogens, routes of exposure, infectious disease exposures, and time incidents.
Wilkie’s Syndrome in an Adolescent: A Rare Etiology of Upper Intestinal Obstruction
Wilkie’s Syndrome (WS) was described in 1927 and its physiopathology is related to the formation of an abnormal acute aortomesenteric angle measuring between 7o and 22o. It leads to digestive symptoms due to external compression of mesentery artery against the third portion of duodenum. This is a case of WS in a young, tall and slim male patient. Three months before, he began postprandial vomiting, abdominal pain, hyporexia and weight loss. The diagnostis was made by an upper gastrointestinal series with barium contrast and confirmed by Laparotomy. Duodenojejunostomy is a well-known technique and it was successfully performed in this case.
The Existence of International Criminal Justice and Liability
International Criminal Justice is seen with the bi-focal lens of liability under municipal laws, enforced by the local courts and international laws enforced by international tribunals. Another limb to this is the application of Customary International Laws to crimes within national jurisdictions as certain crimes are seen as universal deeming such submergible under municipal laws. Implementation of treaties become relevant in this regard due to the important roles of consenting nations in abiding by the principles of law designed to tackle crimes internationally and the exigent need to keep the peace within the local jurisdictions.
Suspected Allergic Reaction in Bottlenose Dolphins (Tursiops truncatus)
Over the course of several years, three members of a Bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus) group showed periodical bouts of pruritus and dermatological lesions. The affected animals were a 25-year-old cow and her 5 and 7-year-old offspring, all housed in a mixed indoor/outdoor facility. The signs were first noted in 2005 and escalated over time until 2012, when a final diagnosis of the problem was attempted. Diagnostic tests included blood analysis and skin biopsies, swab microbiological cultures from the wheals, intradermal tests and response to treatment with corticosteroids. Clinical picture and histopathological findings, as well as response to methylprednisolone, were considered compatible with an allergic dermatitis.
Enforcing the Laws on Public Morality against Key Populations: The Dilemma of the Ghana Police Service
The Ghana Police Service AIDS Control program with the support of the Ghana Country Office of UNFPA designed and implemented a program in 5 Regions and some Headquarters formations out of the total 14 establishments, focused on the epidemic of bad laws that criminalize certain populations and behaviours and thereby stand in the way of progress in addressing HIV.
Milk Production, Somatic Cell Count, Percentages Milk Fat and Milk Protein Measured in Lactating Dairy Goats Fed a Nutritional Supplement
Two replicate studies were conducted on a commercial goat dairy. The objective was to determine the effects of dietary supplementation with OmniGen-AF, a nutritional supplement that supports immune function in ruminants, on milk production, somatic cell count (SCC), percentages milk fat (%MF) and milk protein (%MP) in lactating dairy goats.
Police Chiefs/Sheriffs’ Views on Varying Forensic Response
Police Chiefs/Sheriffs’ Views on Varying Forensic Response: An investigation into Florida agencies methodologies of Forensic Response and evidence collection.
Fabrication and Luminescence of Anodic Alumina with Incorporated Vanadyl Citrate Chelate Anions
Anodic aluminum oxide doped with vanadyl citrate chelate complex anions was formed by a two-step self-organized anodization in 2 wt. % sulfuric acid containing 0.04 M V2O5 and 0.08 M citric acid at voltage range 13-23 V, and at 0 and 15 oC. The combination of two temperatures and at least four voltages (depending on the applied temperature) was applied as the operating conditions of anodization.
