Several large studies have demonstrated the effectiveness of decompressive hemicraniectomy in reducing mortality and functional impairment following malignant infarction of the middle cerebral artery. Analyze the abortion of a pregnant 10-year-old girl who was repeatedly raped by her uncle in the state of Espirito Santo paralyzed Brazil. Pregnancy was revealed on the 7th of August, when the girl went to a local hospital suffering from abdominal pain. The girl claimed that she has been raped by the relative since she was 6 years old and that she did not report him to the authorities before, due to the fear caused by the uncle’s threats.

Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP) is a rare autosomal recessive disorder characterized by an extreme sensitivity to UV rays from sunlight, a high incidence of skin cancer and occasional neurological symptoms. XP, primarily defined as a DNA repair syndrome, has been found associated with defects in the Nucleotide Excision Repair (NER) pathway, and more recently by transcriptional deregulation. XP results from mutations in eight genes (XPA to XPG and XPV) coding for proteins involved in NER.

A 36-year-old woman pregnant, G2 P1, presented at 27 weeks of gestation after two previous visits elsewhere, as an outpatient in a gynecological clinic. An ultrasound examination revealed bilateral hydronephrosis. Also, ureteral dilation and bladder overdistension was present (Figure 1, 2 and 3). We evaluated that the cause was a urinary tract obstruction. Specifically, we are dealing with posterior urethral valves. The anteroposterior diameter of the pelvis on a transverse view of the abdomen was 6 mm. The amniotic fluid index (AFI) was 3 cm, so, oligohydramnios. Fetal Biometry responds to the 27th week of gestation. The sex of the fetus was male. Following identification of urinary tract dilation, a detailed anatomic scan was performed to exclude the presence of associated extra-renal anomalies

The London Metropolitan Police in collaboration with medical personnel, study all sudden unexpected death in infancy (SUDI) <2 years in their jurisdiction, to identify suspicious cases for further investigation. The 2005-2010 Project Indigo includes extensive data on all such non-suspicious cases. Deidentified data on age and gender of 477 infants dying a natural unexpected-sudden death in London were gathered for statistical analyses, for comparison to our published a priori probability models that predict their distributions without need of superfluous information, such as race, autopsy findings, or SUDI risk factors. The total observed male fraction of 0.5639 for all these 477 Indigo cases (269 male) is predicted using a recessive X-linkage model for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) as 0.5676. The transformed age distribution of all 477 Indigo cases of different causes of death is modeled by a single four-parameter lognormal distribution, y = Log [(d + 9.44)/(1254 – d)] = μ + σ z, where d is Indigo age in calendar days of life (d = DOD – DOB ≥ 0), median μ = -1.085, slope σ = 0.543, and z is a standard normal deviate.
