Implant in Medically Challenged Patients: Myth Vs Facts
Dental implant is a part of the standard of care of dental treatment and it have been utilized since 1965 and the treatment had been done on healthy patient and medically compromised but certain diseases and conditions had to have meet certain requirements so the treatment can be successful but with advanced technologies and technique now we want to find has the standards and requirements been affected or they are the same as they have been from the start in medically compromised patients.
Effect of Operator-Related Factors on Failure Rate of Orthodontic MiniImplants (OMIS) used as Temporary Anchorage Devices (TAD); Systematic Review
A search was performed through electronic databases; PubMed, EMBASE searched via ScienceDirect and Cochrane Library. Reference lists were limited to English papers ranging from 2012 to 2018. Eligibility criteria were defined by considering the (PICOS) question patients who received OMIs for orthodontic anchorage. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were performed independently by two authors.
How the Learning Curve Affects the Cochlear Implant Program in the Region of Murcia
We have analyzed the effect of the learning curve on the implementation of the Cochlear Implant Program in terms of intra and postoperative results. Here we present the results and complications found in our series, as well as what we believe is the most interesting aspect, the learning curves for two variables: complications and mean hospital stay.
Development of Acute Implant Peri-Implantitis After Immediate Implant Loading: A Case Report
implantitisIntroductionThe acute apical peri-implantitis (AAPI) is defined as a clinically symptomatic periapical lesion that develops shortly after implant insertion while the coronal portion of the implant substains a normal bone-to-implant interface. The etiology of AAPI is unclear. Regardless of etiology, the management of AAPI has been attempted by either respective or regenerative techniques.
Individual Implants-Retained Maxillary and Mandibular Overdentures with Limited Vertical and Horizontal Space: A Clinical Case Report
Many clinical cases and literature review have revealed the implant-retained-overdentures (IROs) treatment success and predictability in elderly patients. According to the previous studies IROs treatment in maxillary arch prefer implants connected by a bar, while in mandibular arch the first option is to use un-splinted implants when 2 implants have been inserted. The aim of this clinical case report is to present prosthetic rehabilitation of both maxillary/mandibular arches with IROs. In this report four individual implants retained maxillary overdenture, and two individual implants retained mandibular overdenture were fabricated, due to the lack of sufficient vertical crown height space (CHS) and horizontal space. The patient was followed-up for more than 24 months with no complications.
Clinical Evaluation of 762 Single-Tooth, Locking-Taper Implants: A Prospective Study with 1- to 12-Years of Follow-Up
The aim of this study was to evaluate the survival rate, complications and marginal bone loss of single-tooth lockingtaper implants.
Viable Alternatives to Implantology
In this era of implant dentistry, the teaching and indications for removable prosthodontics is becoming a lost art, especially in affluent urban environments, where most replacements are accomplished by the use of implant fixtures. Removable prosthodontics is still being taught and is used in rural areas and in the elderly patients or medically compromised individual.
Feasibility Analysis of Autogenous Tooth-based Bone Graft Material after Guided Bone Regeneration Technique
We set out to determine the possibility of radiographically evaluating the degree of marginal bone loss in humans after functional loading of implants at sites of guided bone regeneration (GBR) with autogenous tooth-based bone graft (ATBBG) material (AutoBT®, Korea Tooth Bank, Seoul, Korea).
