Diagnosis and Surgical Treatment of Patients with Closed Pancreatic Injuries
Diagnosis and choice of therapeutic rational tactics in patients with closed pancreatic injuries still remain and actual problem of urgent abdominal surgery. The results of treatment of 70 patients with pancreatic injuries being treated in a surgical department of RSCUMA of Uzbekistan Public Health and its branches during 2009-20021 with analyzed. Intraoperative inspection of omental bursa is still a single reliable method to reveal injuries to the pancreas. Depending on the character and localization the differ following kinds of surgical treatment of pancreatic injuries were used: based on adequate drainage of the impaired zone; removal of lifeless pancreatic tissues; restoration of passage or rational derivation of pancreatic juice. It is necessary to underline that in all cases of pancreatic injuries antisecretory, antianzymatic, antibacterial and desintoxicating therapy must be carried out.
Case Series: Fishhook Penetrating Eye Injuries
Fishing is considered a favorite pastime and source of living for many, but rare incidences can happen and end up in
serious ocular injuries. Here we are presenting 3 cases of fish hook penetrating eye injuries for a year in Hospital Serdang, Malaysia. 2
of them were fishing while the third was a bystander.

Blunt Abdominal Aortic Injury and Multiple Traumatic Abdominal Wall Hernias: A case of Rare Concomitant Injuries
Blunt force trauma resulting in a combination of serious injuries is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality. We present a successfully managed case of blunt force trauma from a motor vehicular collision resulting in concomitant blunt abdominal aortic injury (BAAI) and multiple traumatic abdominal wall hernias (TAWH) that required emergency surgery.
Psychosocial Flag Signs in Patients with Compensable Occupational Lumbar Spine Injuries
Purpose: The purposes of this study were to examine the prevalence of psychological flag signs (yellow, black and blue) in workers who had sustained a low back injury and to examine the relationship between the presence and number of these signs and the level of pain, disability, anxiety, depression and ability to work.
Methods: This study involved a review of the electronic files of injured workers with an active work-related claim related to the lumbar spine. The information on demographics, presence and number of psychosocial and workplace risk factors, level of disability as measured by the Roland Morris Disability Questionnaire (RMDQ), pain intensity as measured by the numeric pain rating scale (NPRS), and anxiety and depression as measured by the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) was extracted from standardized forms.
Cervical Ballistic Traumatism: A Case Report
The adequate care of cervical ballistic traumatisms implies a good preliminary knowledge of wounding agents, and of the principles governing lesion-based ballistic, in particular the role played by the meeting with an obstacle which modifies the ballistic behavior of the projectile, with worsened wounding effects. Authors describe the principal types of involved projectiles and their wound profile applied, while stressing the need to treat systematically the wound and not the weapon, and on the importance of the choice of the surgical exploration way of these lesions, which conditions, as from the initial stage, the later choices of the closure and rebuilding methods.
