Stridor in children is not uncommon reason to visit emergency department and usually due to croup but inhalation of toxic substance may cause severe stridor which is uncommon
Rheological, Antioxidant and Sensory Properties of Sodium Reduced Wheat Flour Bread with Mahaleb (Prunus mahaleb L.)
20% and 40% reduction of sodium content of wheat bread and the effects of addition of mahaleb kernel powder (Prunus mahaleb L.) were examined in order to determine the quality characteristics of the wheat flour dough and bread. The rheological properties of dough and antioxidant, sensory properties of sodium reduced wheat bread made with different levels of mahaleb kernel powder were determined.
Rapid industrialization in the various fields of urbanization has resulted in massive pollution of environment. Pollution occurring in soil and ground water table is alarmingly increasing day by day. Thus, a sincere attention is required, to control the effect of pollutants on the soil and water table.
The present study is to investigate the anti-inflammatory activity of Bauhinia X blackeana leaves by in vivo on rats and in vitro using HRBC membrane stabilizing method. Diclofenac sodium was used as reference drug for comparison. The methanolic extract showed significant activity when compared to the standard drug.
The Influence of Sodium on the Characterization of Cu(In,Ga)Se2 Thin Films Prepared by Three-Stage Deposition Process
The objective of this work is to investigate the influence of sodium on the characteristics of Cu(In,Ga)Se2 (CIGS) thin films prepared by a three-stage deposition process with a MoNa back contact, in comparison to Mo/SLG. The XRD results show that all the CIGS thin films deposited onto Mo/SLG substrates have the (112) preferred orientation, rather than the (220/204) orientation of CIGS deposited onto Na-free substrates.
Bioequivalence Study of Two Oral-Capsule Formulations of Omeprazole 20 mg in Combination with Sodium Bicarbonate in Healthy Mexican Adult Volunteers
In Mexico, the immediate-release formulation of omeprazole 20 mg in combination with 1100 mg of sodium bicarbonate (oral capsules) is indicated for patients over 18 years for the treatment of gastritis, reflux, heartburn and the sensation of emptiness caused by the excessive acid production.
Pressure ulcers are a critical but manageable complication commonly seen in bed-bound patients. Utilizing the Wound Bed Preparation (WBP) model, it is often necessary to perform surgical debridement in prone position for patients with stage III or IV sacral pressure ulcers to avoid infection and further complications.
Neutrophil extracellular traps (NETs) have been proposed as vehicles for the sensitization of T cells by decreasing their activation threshold.
The aim of this project was to evaluate the influence of inflammatory cytokines IL-1β and IL-8 on gastric epithelial-mesenchymal transition in gastric epithelial cells.
Polymorphonuclear (PMN) neutrophil leukocytes are cells of innate immunity recognized in a peripheral blood smear because of their particular multilobed nucleus. Ring shaped nucleous are typical in rats and mice, being described in some pathologies in humans as well as in healthy subjects.
Pharmacokinetics, Biotransformation, Distribution and Excretion of Empagliflozin, a Sodium-Glucose Co-Transporter (SGLT 2) Inhibitor, in Mice, Rats, and Dogs
The metabolism, pharmacokinetics, excretion and distribution of a sodium-glucose co-transporter (SGLT 2) inhibitor, empagliflozin, were studied in mice, rats and beagle dogs following a single oral or intravenous administration of [14C]-empagliflozin. Empagliflozin was well absorbed in all species after oral administration.
The current research in the field of drug delivery by which pulsatile release can be achieved has been intensified. The objective of the present study was to evaluate Luffa aegyptica mill powder as a novel superdisintegrant in the development of pulsatile drug delivery system (PDDS).
Cefpodoxime proxetil (CFPD PRXL) is broad spectrum, third generation cephalosporin; antibiotic. It is extremely bitter taste resulting in poor patient compliance. The aim of the present work was to prepare drug resin complex (DRC) using ion exchange resin (Kyron T-114) for taste masking and formulate oral reconstitutable suspension of DRC.
The high mortality associated with ovarian cancer is generally related to the development of drug-resistant disease. HMGA2 protein, a member of the high-mobility group AT-hook (HMGA) family of non-histone chromatin binding factors, is overexpressed in high-grade serous ovarian and tubal carcinomas, though little is known about its contribution to disease progression and drug resistance. We sought to assess whether compositional changes in HMGA2 production were associated with ovarian cancer progression.
Titanium dioxide (TiO2) (<100 nm) has been widely used in the production of paints, paper, and plastics, as well as in food additives and colorants .It has been classified as biologically inert in both humans and animals. Here we studied the toxicity of TiO2 on Wister rat. Main exposure area of NPs is caudal vein of Wistar rat.
Fabrication of Vertical Cu2ZnSnS4 Nanowire Arrays by Two-Step Electroplating Method into Anodic Aluminum Oxide Template
Vertical Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) nanowire arrays have been synthesized via two-step electroplating method into anodized aluminum oxide template. For deposition of CZTS nanowires, anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) was used as the growth mask for the growth of the nanowires. AAO templates with hole sizes of 70 nm in diameter were used in the experiments.
