Chemicals Disinfections and Their Effects on The Dimensional Stability of Alginate: Systematic Review
Dental practice involves a risk of exposure to microorganisms causing many infectious diseases. The risk of contamination starts at the beginning of the prosthetic workflow through impressions. Various chemical disinfection protocols for dental impressions are reported in the literature.
Progressive Supranuclear Palsy with Classic Radiological Signs: A Case Report and Literature Review
Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is a rare neurodegenerative parkinsonian syndrome with distinct clinical features
which tends to be progressive, causing vertical supranuclear gaze palsy, frontal lobe cognitive decline, postural instability
and progressive axial rigidity. Clinical examination typically reveals ocular motor dysfunction including restricted vertical
gaze, slow vertical saccades and “eyelid opening apraxia” with intact vestibule ocular reflex. PSP falls under the rubric of
Parkinsonism plus syndromes that are a group of heterogeneous degenerative neurological disorders that differ from the
classical idiopathic Parkinson’s disease. PSP is often underreported, making it important for clinicians to be aware of this
disorder. Here we report a case of PSP, which presented primarily with speech disturbances and recurrent falls due to
postural instability. On investigating, the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a classical sign diagnostic of PSP.
This teaching case report describes management and prognosis of the disease
Stability Indicating Method Development and Validation for the Determination of Armodafinil in Pharmaceutical Tablet Dosage Form by RP-HPLC
The present research deals with the development of a stability indicating reverse phase HPLC with PDA detector method
for the determination of Armodafinil Agilent XDB-C18, 150×4.6mm, 5µm or Equivalent column. The present research
deals with the development of a stability indicating reverse phase HPLC with PDA detector method for the determination
of Armodafinil Agilent XDB-C18,
Microscopic Characteristics of Nanoparticles inside the Liquid Suspension by Molecular Dynamics Simulation
Conveying nanopowder or nanoparticles are involved in the numerous industry fields, but discontinuous and unstable transportation often takes place, and even the pipes clogged because of nanoparticle aggregation. Understanding in detailed the microscopic characteristics of nanoparticles suspended in the base fluid will play a vital role.
Global Analysis of an Epidemic Mathematical Model in A Chemostat
In this paper, a mathematical five-dimensional dynamical system involving an SVEIR model of infectious disease transmission in a chemostat is proposed. A profound qualitative analysis is given. The analysis of the local and global stability of equilibrium points is carried out. It is proved that if R>1, then the disease-persistence (endemic) equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable. However, if 1≤R, then the disease-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable in R5.
Regularized Joint Estimation of Related VAR Models via Group Lasso
In a number of applications, one has access to high-dimensional time series data on several related subjects. Natural example comes from medical experiments: brain fMRI time series data for various groups of patients, be it controls or individuals with a specific mental disorder.
Research in Fracture Healing and Its Clinical Applications in the Veterinary Practice
Bone healing is a complex process consisting of multiple sequential phases needing the coordinated interaction of various cells, growth factors, cytokines and mechanical conditions. However, bone healing is one of the rare regenerative processes resulting in complete restoration of form and function. Fracture treatment aims towards a swift return to functional use of the injured limb. Therefore stabilization is a key requisite. In the veterinary clinic difficult fracture cases often require a unique stabilization by custom made external fixation. While this fixation technique harbors risk factors it offers a high flexibility essentially needed to successfully treat small animal fracture patients. Here we draw the connection between the up-to-date knowledge in bone healing and case reports of external fixation techniques from the small animal practice with respect to benefits and risk factors.
Stability Analysis of Human Islet Amyloid Polypeptide and Its Mutated Oligomeric Forms
Human islet amyloid polypeptide (hIAPP), a 37 residue peptide hormone is an ingenious factor in pancreatic amyloid deposits found in cases with type-2 diabetes. Its aggregation into small toxic oligomeric species is presumed to be the reason for cells debilitation and demise in case of diabetic patients.
Evaluation of Luffa Aegyptica Mill Powder: A Novel Superdisintegrant in Delayed Release Tablets
The current research in the field of drug delivery by which pulsatile release can be achieved has been intensified. The objective of the present study was to evaluate Luffa aegyptica mill powder as a novel superdisintegrant in the development of pulsatile drug delivery system (PDDS).
Formulation and Evalution of Oral Reconstitutable Suspension of Cefpodoxime Proxetil
Cefpodoxime proxetil (CFPD PRXL) is broad spectrum, third generation cephalosporin; antibiotic. It is extremely bitter taste resulting in poor patient compliance. The aim of the present work was to prepare drug resin complex (DRC) using ion exchange resin (Kyron T-114) for taste masking and formulate oral reconstitutable suspension of DRC.
Molecular Mechanisms of Mismatch Repair Genes in Cancer – A Brief Review
The DNA mismatch repair (MMR) system is necessary for the maintenance of genomic stability. The MMR system promotes genomic
fidelity by repairing base-base mismatches, insertion-deletion loops (IDLs) and heterologies generated during DNA replication and recombination.
Reduction of Bitterness and Enhancing Palatability of Cetirizine Oral Liquid Dosage Forms by Cyclodextrins
The aim of this manuscript is to study cyclodextrins (CDs) as a potential excipient to suppress bitterness and enhance palatability of pediatric liquid preparations for Cetirizine, an extremely bitter drug. Natural α, β and γ CDs; and β CD derivatives such as hydroxyl propyl (HP), randomly methylated (RM) and sulfobutyl ether (SBE) β-CDs were screened in different molar ratios of 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 for their inhibition of the extremely bitter taste of Cetirizine using the human gustatory sensation test.
Topical Delivery System for Phytochemicals: Capsaicin and Capsicum Tincture
Capsaicin, an active ingredient of Capsicum fruit, is currently undergoing “revival” in the clinical management of pain. However, the choice of its formulation is rather limited to the use of “old-fashioned” tinctures and recently the patches. In an attempt to improve the therapeutic outcome and develop its skin-friendly formulation, we prepared the vesicle-based drug delivery system with capsaicin.
Development of a Stability Indicating UPLC-MS/MS Method for Rapid and Reliable Determination of Fenofibrate in Marketed Product (Lypanthyl® 200M) and Human Plasma
A reliable, fast, sensitive and selective Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography-Tandem Mass Spectrometry (UPLC-MS/MS) method has been developed and validated for the determination of fenofibrate in marketed product (Lipanthyl) and human plasma. The chromatographic separation was performed on a reversed-phase Acquity®BEH C18 column (1.7 μm particle size, 50 mm x 2.1 mm ID) with an isocratic elution profile and mobile phase consisting of methanol and water (80:20, %, v/v). To achieve optimum chromatographic condition the influence of mobile phase composition and flow rate was investigated. The total chromatographic analysis time was as short as 2 min.
Polymeric Nano-Fibers and Modified Nano-Fibers Assembly in 3D Network for Different Potential Applications
Polymeric nano-fiber based materials and their application is one of the research areas in materials science and nanotechnology. Nano-fibrous materials are receiving extensive research interest for applications in diverse fields as biosensors, optical and chemical sensors, stimuli-responsive or "smart" materials, bioreactors, drug delivery carriers, etc.
