Donepezil is a potent, selective, noncompetitive and reversible inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase, commonly used for the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease. Erythematous, Hyperkeratotic Papule on the Left Distal Dorsal Aspect of the Middle Finger

Dermatofibroma (DF) is a common benign fibrosing lesion that can be found on any surface of the body, most often in the lower extremities. Dermatofibroma that arises on the digits, as in our present case, may be confused with other clinical entities or even malignant tumors, leading to unnecessarily aggressive treatment. To ensure proper diagnosis and treatment, dermatofibroma should be considered in the differential diagnosis of digital papules.

Application of Lando®Artificial Dermal Regeneration Matrix in Treatment of Challenging Scar Contracture Release of a Severely Deformed Wrist: A Case Report

Effect of 4-h Time Restricted Feeding on Body Weight, Leptin Concentration and Lipid Profile in Healthy Non-Obese Male Wistar Rats

Obesity greatly increases the risk of metabolic diseases and preventive approaches for obesity are often insufficient to effectively prevent the diseases. Altering feeding time strategy intervention decreases caloric intake without calorie counting and may be an effective therapy. Therefore, this study investigates the effect of 4-h time restricted feeding on body weight, leptin concentration and lipid profile in healthy non-obese male Wistar rats.

Rapid Hydrogenation of Toluene in a One-Pass Reactor at Ambient Temperature and Pressure on a Novel Nanostructured Super-Alloy Catalysts without Containing Noble Metals

Novel Ni-Re super-alloy catalyst system is found for rapid hydrogenation of toluene to methylcyclohexane (MCH) in a one-pass reactor under mild reaction conditions. The novel bimetallic Ni-Re alloy catalysts exhibit the remarkably enhanced activity and stability for hydrogenation of toluene by comparison with monometallic Ni catalyst. The catalytic performance of novel Ni-Re catalyst is compared with that of Pt catalysts for hydrogenation of toluene. The better activity maintenance of the Ni-Re catalysts than the Pt-based catalysts are found. The alloying effect of Ni with Re is identified by XRD and EXAFS measurements.

Contact Angle Influence on Defects in Graphene Prepared by Segregation Method on Treated SiO2 /Si Substrates

SiO2/Si substrates were modified by physical and chemical treatments in order to improve adhesion and homogeneity of segregated graphene. The objective of this work was to decrease defects concentration in graphene crystallites in segregated graphene. Assessment of Cyanide Concentrations in Cassava Peels obtained at different levels of Processing for Resource Reuse

Cassava processing is a year-round activity in Nigeria, especially in southern part and Ibadan city. The wastes generated by the various processing industries are enormous. Cassava peels are a major residue of processing to prepare various food products. The cassava peels have high concentration of cyanide which has toxic and polluting effects. It is therefore important that the peels are properly processed or pre-treated to reduce the cyanide content before using them as livestock feed which is a common practice among livestock rearers.

HIV Screening Scenarios and Targets to Achieve 90% Sero-Status Knowledge Over 2021-2025 in Morocco – Pioneer Use Case of the Goals HIV Testing Strategies Model in a Concentrated Epidemic

Morocco applied the Goals testing model, projecting alternative testing scale-up scenarios, varying coverage targets for 13 adult populations. The model was calibrated using program service delivery, spending and surveillance data (2015-2019), integrated bio-behavioural surveys, and national HIV estimates. It projects annual diagnoses by target group from undiagnosed prevalence and testing coverage, allowing for HIV-infected people self-selecting for testing, retesting and transitions between groups. Scenarios were evaluated for knowledge status improvement and cost, focusing on 2023-2025.

Chemical Constituents of the Fruits of Crataegus dahurica and the Antihyperlipidemic Activity in HepG2 Cells

The fruit of Crataegus dahurica Koehne ex C.K. Schneid is an edible wild fruit and herb for the treatment of various diseases. However, few studies were conducted to search the chemical constituents of the edible herb. In the present study, a new glycoglycerolipid (1), together with ten known compounds, 2-oxo pomolic acid (2), cecropiacic acid (3), nikoenoside (4), garcimangosone D (5), ampelopsisionoside (6), saussureosides B (7), 6-O-[(2E, 6S)-2, 6-dimethyl-6-hydroxy-2, 7-octadienoyl]-α-D-glucopyranoside (8), 6-O-[(2E, 6S)-2, 6-dimethyl6-hydroxy-2, 7-octadienoyl]-β-D-glucopyranoside (9), betulalbuside A (10), quercetin (11), were isolated from the fruits of C. dahurica with various chromatographic techniques.

Electronic-nose Applications in Forensic Science and for Analysis of Volatile Biomarkers in the Human Breath

The application of electronic-nose (E-nose) technologies in forensic science is a recent new development following a long history of progress in the development of diverse applications in the related biomedical and pharmaceutical fields. Data from forensic analyses must satisfy the needs and requirements of both the scientific and legal communities. The type of data collected from electronic-nose devices provides a means of identifying specific types of information about the chemical nature of evidentiary objects and samples under investigation using aroma signature profiles of complex gaseous mixtures containing volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released from manufactured products and parts of the human body. E-nose analyses also provide useful qualitative information about the physicochemical characteristics and metabolic conditions of human subjects without the need for time-consuming analyses to identify all chemical components in human-derived volatile mixtures.

Characteristic Human Scent Compounds Trapped on Natural and Synthetic Fabrics as analyzed by SPME-GC/MS

The collection of human odor volatiles is of interest to forensic applications as a path to investigate canine scent discriminations in legal investigations. Anodic Oxidation of Titanium in Sulphuric Acid and Phosphoric Acid Electrolytes

Anodisation of pure titanium has been carried out in sulphuric and in phosphoric acid solutions at potentials ranging from 50 to 150V. The SEM and AFM morphological analysis indicates that, within this potential range, oxidation in sulphuric acid solution produces better developed mesoporous oxide layers.

Vertical Cu2ZnSnS4 (CZTS) nanowire arrays have been synthesized via two-step electroplating method into anodized aluminum oxide template. For deposition of CZTS nanowires, anodized aluminum oxide (AAO) was used as the growth mask for the growth of the nanowires. Fabrication and Luminescence of Anodic Alumina with Incorporated Vanadyl Citrate Chelate Anions

Anodic aluminum oxide doped with vanadyl citrate chelate complex anions was formed by a two-step self-organized anodization in 2 wt. % sulfuric acid containing 0.04 M V2O5 and 0.08 M citric acid at voltage range 13-23 V, and at 0 and 15 oC. The combination of two temperatures and at least four voltages (depending on the applied temperature) was applied as the operating conditions of anodization.
