Role of Serology and Histopathology in Diagnostic of Human Cystic Echinococcosis
Hydatid disease is an important emerging neglected disease worldwide, with significant geographic variation in seroprevalance. The disease is commonly diagnosed on basis of clinical suspicion, imaging and serology. This study was conducted to evaluate our experience with serology in diagnosing hydatid disease in terms of identifying the numbers of patients testing positive for antibodies against Echinococcus, and to study their clinical profile.
Effect of Methanolic Leaf Extract of Lannea Schimperi on Some Organs Histopathology in Experimentally Induced Coccidiosis in Broiler Chickens
The most pathogenic species of Eimeria that infect chickens is Eimeria tenella. It is a major cause of coccidiosis, a self-limiting infectious disease of the digestive tract of chickens. In view of the resistance to the conventional anticoccidial drugs used in poultry, herbal extracts are often considered as safe alternatives. The present study was aimed at investigating the effects of methanolic leaf extract of Lannea schimperi on histopathological changes in the intestines, liver and kidneys of chicken infected with Eimeria tenella. Seven groups of 4 broilers chickens were used for the experiment.
Induce Hyperlipidemia in Rats Using High Fat Diet Investigating Blood Lipid and Histopathology
The experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of induced hyperlipidemia in SD rats fed with high fat diet (HFD) for 7 weeks on blood lipid profile and possible pathological changes in liver, stomach, intestine, heart, spleen, lung and kidney. There were significant differences in most rats which induced hyperlipidemia throughout the experimental period with the blood lipid levels and histopathology.
Primary Large Hydatid Cyst of The Neck
Hydatid cyst in the head and neck is very rare. We report the exceptional case of a 9-year-old female child presenting with a hydatid cyst in the posterior cervical region
Persisting Cough as the Single Presenting Symptom of an Intrathoracic Tumor in a Nine-Month-Old Child with Adenovirus Airway Infection
We report on a nine-month-old girl who presented with persisting cough, and diminished ventilation of the left hemithorax. Viral pneumonia was suspected after Adenovirus detection by PCR, but chest X-rays showed a persistent shadowing of the left hemithorax and persistent coughing despite clinical improvement. Because of the discrepancy between clinical and radiological signs further investigations by ultrasound and CT scan were performed, which visualized an intrathroracic tumor. Histopathology confirmed
diagnosis of a teratoma.
Appendicitis in Pregnancy: How Vestigial is this?
Appendicitis is a rare pregnancy associated surgical emergency, with appendectomy as the most frequent non obstetrical surgical procedure performed in pregnancy. Diagnostic delay increases maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality thereby highlighting the need for a prompt diagnosis and surgery. Two cases of appendicitis with pregnancy are being reported with abdominal pain as common presenting feature.
Giant Mesenteric Cyst - Cause of Abdominal Distension Managed with Laparotomy- A Case Report
This case report describes the diagnosis and management of a large mesenteric cyst in a 55 year old lady who presented with abdominal
distension & with mass in the left upper quadrant. Mesenteric cysts are rare, benign, abdominal tumors to which <1000 cases have

Juvenile Ossifying Fibroma - WHO Type
Juvenile ossifying fibroma is an uncommon clinical entity, its aggressive local behaviour and high recurrence rate mean that it is important
to make an early diagnosis, apply the appropriate treatment and, especially, follow the patient up over the long term. In the
current article we report a case of juvenile ossifying fibroma-WHO type in 12yr old patient which was clinical and histopathologically
challenging as it was asymptomatic and at an unusual location.
