Dr. Massimo Dominici is currently working as assistant professor of Medical Oncology and head of the Laboratory of Cellular Therapies at University/Hospital of Modena. He was a Postdoctoral research associate at St Jude Children's Hospital, USA and also worked as associate professor of Medical Oncology (Nat. Board on Scientific Habilitation). He received many research grants and awards. He authored books, book chapters and about 80 articles, and has Six deposited patents. He is serving as Scientific advisor for the Italian Minister of Health on stem cells (2012). He is the current President of the International Society for Cellular Therapy (ISCT). He has been member of ISCT, ASH, ESCGT, IFATS and board member of JAICE.
Dr. Massimo Dominici’s research interest includes stem cell biology and its translational applications in oncology-hematology and regenerative medicine, focusing on hematopoietic and mesenchymal stromal/stem cells (MSC). The actual projects are aimed to clarify the interactions between MSC and marrow cells to improve bone and marrow regeneration, To develop cancer gene therapy approaches based on immune cells and MSC and To develop tools to increase MSC performance and safety for clinical uses.
