Dr. Hillary Mukudu, Ph.D. is a researcher at the Perinatal HIV Research Unit (PHRU), MRC Soweto Matlosana Collaborating Centre for HIV/AIDS and TB, within the Faculty of Health Sciences, University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. He holds a Ph.D. in Public Health and an MSc in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from the University of the Witwatersrand, as well as a BScHB and MBChB from the University of Zambia. Dr. Mukudu’s research focuses on HIV prevention, public health policy, and health systems strengthening. His doctoral thesis, “Implementation of Universal Health Coverage in South Africa: Formative Effects, Perceived Quality of Healthcare, and Modelling of Health Service Utilisation Indicators in a National Health Insurance Pilot District” (2018–2022), explored strategies to enhance equitable access to healthcare. His earlier master’s research (2012–2015), “Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision for the Prevention of HIV Transmission in South Africa,” contributed valuable insights into HIV prevention efforts in the region. Dr. Mukudu continues to work toward improving population health outcomes through evidence-based policy, epidemiological research, and implementation science.

Dr. Judy Twigg is professor of political science at Virginia Commonwealth University, where she teaches courses on global health, international political economy, international relations, and Russian politics. She is also currently serving as a senior associate (non-resident) with the Russia and Eurasia Program at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, where she directs the Eurasia Health Project; consultant to the World Bank and U.S. federal government; and adjunct professor at the Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. She co-chairs the Public Health Working Group and the overall Steering Committee for the US-Russia Social Expertise Exchange Program (formerly the Civil Society Partnership Program) administered by the Eurasia Foundation. She has also been a senior advisor for the Eurasia Program of the Social Science Research Council in New York. She has testified as an expert witness before the U.S. Congress and has been a member of several congressional and other U.S. government advisory groups on Russian affairs. She was a member of the 2005 Council on Foreign Relations Task Force on U.S.-Russia relations and one of 12 recipients of the 2005 State Council on Higher Education in Virginia’s Distinguished Faculty Award. In early 2014, she was inducted into the Fort Hill High School Alumni Hall of Fame.

(1) in anti-HIV drug research, He is focusing on the design and synthesis of novel non-nucleoside HIV-1 reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NNRTIs), and the novel multiple ligands (inhibitors) simultaneously targeting at HIV-1 RT and integrase. (2) in anti-HBV drug research, he is focusing on design and synthesis of some novel non-nucleoside (small molecules) inhibitors. (3) in anti-influenza drug research, he is conducting the neuramidinase inhibitors and RNA polymerase inhibitors. His second ongoing program is design, synthesis and cardiovascular studies of novel factor Xa inhibitors, and synthesis of some natural products from Chinese Traditional Medicine active in cardio/vascular diseases.

Research: Dr. Sanjeev’s kumar singh research interest includes in HIV neutralizing the HIV infection by targeting different proteins crucial for virus’ existence. Presently, he is focusing on investigating entry, attachment, protease and p/LEDGF based integrates inhibitors to find potential small molecules for the treatment of HIV. He is keenly interested in investigating small molecules which exclusively interacts with CDKs, HAT, h-GPCR, Retinoblastoma and HPV to potentially aid the therapeutics.

Dr. Jack Ho Wong is currently working as a research associate at school of biomedical sciences, Chinese university of Hong Kong. He received his doctoral and postdoctoral training from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. He has published around 90 papers in peer-reviewed journals and over 30 invited book chapters. He has reviewed manuscripts submitted to journals for publication and research grant applications from funding agencies in Poland and Singapore.
Research: Dr. Jack Ho Wong research interests encompass the action of ribosome inactivating proteins, milk proteins and antimicrobial proteins on HIV enzymes, antimicrobial proteins and peptides of diverse origins such as chitinases, defensins, thaumatin-like proteins, hemagglutinins, laccases, trypsin inhibitors cathelicidins, lactoferricin, and lactoferrampin.
