Dr. Helena Nunes Cabaço is currently working as a research associate at Institute of Molecular Medicine, Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon. She completed her PhD in Biomedical Sciences at Faculty of Medicine, University of Lisbon. She received many honors and published various articles.
Dr. Helena Nunes Cabaço research is mainly focused on the study of the human thymus in health and in the context of HIV-1 and HIV-2 infections. She has been exploring HIV-2 infection of the human thymus as a model to investigate the establishment of viral reservoirs and the control of HIV replication.
