Xiao-Jian Yao

Dr. Xiao-Jian Yao is currently working as an associate professor at Faculty of Health Sciences, University of Manitoba. He completed his PhD at  Department of microbiology and immunology, University of Montreal. He received many honors and awards in his career. He published various articles in international journals. 

Dr. Xiao-Jian Yao research is mainly focused on:

• Investigation of role and molecular mechanism of HIV-1/host interaction in the early stage of HIV replication and their impact on the establishment of viral infection.
• Study on the mechanism involved in the combat between HIV-1 Vif and host defenders during HIV-1 infection, and development of new “intracellular Immunization” strategies restricting HIV dissemination and inducing broad immune response.
• Study on the mechanisms of HIV latency aimed to develop new strategies reactivating HIV latent reservoir for eradication.
