About the Journal

Journal of Computational Systems Biology (JCSB) is an open access, peer-reviewed journal publishing articles related to structure prediction of proteins and protein complexes, molecular simulation, systems biology, genomics, protein design, and drug discovery. JCSB aim’s to build up a comprehension of issues connected with organically significant computational models and serves mainstream researchers by providing free online access to high-quality articles.

The persistence behind this journal is to give top-notch scientific resources for academics interested in the fields of Computational Biology, and the journal is seeking submissions of original investigative research and clinical work on biological databases and bio-algorithms, new concepts in systems biology, etc.

Research Highlights

Transglutaminase 4 as a prostate autoantigen in male subfertility.

Autoimmune polyendocrine syndrome type 1 (APS1), a monogenic disorder caused by AIRE gene mutations, features multiple autoimmune disease components. Infertility is common in both males and females with APS1. APS1 patients and Aire-deficient mice reveal prostate autoimmunity as a major manifestation of APS1 with potential role in male subfertility.

Epigenomic Signatures of Neuronal Diversity in the Mammalian Brain.

To address the need for tools that facilitate cell-type-specific epigenomic studies, here developed the first affinity purification approach to isolate nuclei from genetically defined cell types in a mammal. This technique is combined with next-generation sequencing to show that three subtypes of neocortical neurons have highly distinctive epigenomic landscapes

Naïve Bayes classifier predicts functional microRNA target interactions in colorectal cancer.

A novel computational algorithm for miRNA-target prediction in CRC using a Naïve Bayes classifier. The algorithm, which is referred to as CRCmiRTar, was trained with data from validated miRNA target interactions in CRC and other cancer entities.

Evolutionary genomics of Culex pipiens: global and local adaptations associated with climate, life-history traits and anthropogenic factors.

The first genome-wide study of recent evolution in Culex pipiens species complex focusing on the genomic extent, functional targets and likely causes of global and local adaptations.

Toxicokinetic Triage for Environmental Chemicals.

Toxicokinetic (TK) models link administered doses to plasma, blood, and tissue concentrations. High throughput TK (HTTK) performs in vitro to in vivo extrapolation to predict TK from rapid in vitro measurements and chemical structure-based properties.

Study on action mechanism of Danhong injection based on computational system biology approach.

In this study, protein data of S. miltiorrhiza and C. tinctorius were searched in TCMGeneDIT database and agilent literature search (ALS) system to establish the multi-component protein network of S. miltiorrhiza, C. tinctorius and Danhong injection.
