Light-Fueled Microscopic Walkers

Artificial muscles have been investigated for a few decades, however, all attempts to build a micrometer-sized terrestrial robot have failed due to the huge natural adhesion. The first microscopic artificial walker equipped with liquid crystalline elastomer muscle is reported.

Micro-organisms in Vedas

The word krimi is used in Veda for different macroscopic & microscopic creatures. Right from bacteria, various insects like kita, patanga were nominated as krimi. Two types of krimi viz. Drishta (Visible/Macroscopic) & Adrishta (Invisible / Microscopic) were described in veda.

Identification and characterization of two subpopulations of Encephalitozoon intestinalis

Microsporidia are obligate intracellular protozoa that have been shown to be pathogenic to most living creatures. The development of in vitro cell culture propagation methods has provided researchers with large numbers of spores and facilitated the study of these organisms.

Modern histochemical methods using enzymes as markers

In the 25 years since the idea that histochemically detectable enzymes could serve as a marker of ligands, the world of histochemistry has undergone a dramatic change. Today slides of immunostained tissue sections may be filed together with hematoxylin- and eosin-stained slides and may be examined at one\'s leisure.

A Review of Plasmodium coatneyi-Macaque Models of Severe Malaria

Malaria remains one of the most significant public health concerns in the world today. Approximately half the human population is at risk for infection, with children and pregnant women being most vulnerable. More than 90% of the total human malaria burden, which numbers in excess of 200 million annually, is due to Plasmodium falciparum.

Myeloid Sarcoma Masquerading as Granulation Tissue: A Diagnostic Pitfall

Myeloid sarcoma is an uncommon neoplasm, comprising an extramedullary tumorous proliferation of immature myeloid cells. Its rarity and tendency for diverse clinical presentation contribute to difficulty in timely diagnosis. This report describes a case of a painful back lump in an elderly Chinese male, which was initially diagnosed as a carbuncle.
