Dr. Maged Tanios is the Chief of Staff at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and is the director of the ICU and Intensivists Program. Dr. Tanios is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine and sleep medicine, and is an associate professor of medicine at David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. Dr. Tanios completed his internal medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, followed by fellowships in pulmonary, critical care medicine and sleep medicine at Tufts Medical Center in Boston. He earned a master of public health in health care management and policy from Tufts University School of Medicine. Dr. Tanios is involved in clinical research and has multiple peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and is a fellow of numerous professional associations. Dr. Tanios also is the recipient of multiple grants and teaching awards and is an expert medical reviewer for the Medical Board of California.

She is currently conducting a Ph.D. project on women’s health in the University of Technology, Sydney, Australia. She has an extensive experience in the field of midwifery in various settings from her private surgery and public hospitals to academic settings such as universities as a clinical educator from 2004 to 2013.  After commencement, her Ph.D., Sara started her cooperation with peer-review journals as a reviewer and editorial member. She also serves as an academic tutor and research assistant at the University of Technology, Sydney.
