Dr. Jonathan Todd Carter is presently working as an Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery, Surgery, University of California - San Francisco, United States. He is Medical Director for Information Technology, Surgical Programs. He is an active member of the American College of Surgeons, Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons, and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. Dr. Carter is a member of the Bariatric Surgery Program, Section of Gastrointestinal Surgery, and Surgical Hospitalist Program within the Division of General Surgery.
Dr. Jonathan Todd Carter clinical interests are obesity, metabolic disease, and diseases of the foregut (paraesophageal hernia, esopheal motility disease, and gastroesophageal reflux disease). He performed advanced laparoscopic (minimially-invasive) surgery to treat these diseases. His other clinical interests are the treatment of hernia and acute care surgery. Major clinical activities include the UCSF Bariatric Surgery Program and the UCSF Acute Care Surgery Hospitalist program.
