Dr. Peter Schemmer is a Professor and Vice Chairman, Head of the Sections of Liver Surgery and Transplant Surgery, Department of General -, Visceral- and Transplant Surgery at University Hospital Heidelberg, Germany. His clinical focus is on both oncological surgery (upper GI, lower GI, HPB, endocrine, etc.) including laparoscopic techniques and transplant surgery (liver, kidney, pancreas). He is Honorary member of the Lithuanian Association of Transplantologists and member in various international societies. He is an Editorial board member and reviewer for numerous journals.
Dr. Peter Schemmer’s areas of interests include Surgical Oncology, Liver Surgery, Transplant Surgery, Ischemia Reperfusion Injury, Pancreatic Surgery, Kupffer cells, Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), Cholangiocellular carcinoma (CCC), Liver regeneration and Living related transplantation.
