Biography

Dr. Vladimir Spolsky is currently working as an Associate Professor in the Division of Public Health and Community Dentistry. He continues his interest in developing and testing preventive agents for dental diseases and in the measurement of dental disease and oral health.

Dr. Vladimir Spolsky was placed on temporary assignment to the New York State Health Department, where he assumed responsibility for the dental portion of the Ten-State Nutrition Survey and was the Dental Examiner for the Upper New York State Survey. He was the dental consultant to the RAND Corporation on the National Preventive Dentistry Demonstration Project and later, the primary dental consultant on The Health Insurance Study (HIS) conducted by RAND.

 

Research Interests

Dr. Vladimir Spolsky’s research interest includes:

  • Clinical trials on anti-plaque agents that prevent gingivitis
  • The periodontal status of abutment teeth
  • Clinical trials on a disposable flossing device
  • A series of studies on a biodegradable gel impregnated with the antibiotic doxycycline (Atridox).
