Dr. Loai awarded his PhD in Analytical Chemistry at Istanbul University. He is a specialist in analytical and industrial chemistry. He obtained many awards and published more than 30 peer-reviewed papers (two of them in French) in Environmental Sciences, Green Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Synthesis Chemistry, Concrete, Ceramics, Paper Industry, Petrochemical, Extraction, Separation, Lithium-Ion-Batteries, and Oral Chemistry. He is a partner in Advances in Cleaner Production Network, and a member of the German Chemical Society e.V. (GDCh) and the American University of Beirut. He is a member of the higher committee of the 6th International Workshop-Advance in Cleaner Production (São Paulo, Brazil (May 24th to 26th - 2017)). Dr. Loai Aljerf is in the Cambridge Scholars Publishing-Life Science Advisory Board and an editor of more than 20 journals and a reviewer for Top journals in Industry, Chemical Engineering, and Environmental Chemistry.

His research interests are synthesis and biological activities (Cytotoxicity, Topoisomerase inhibitory activity, Antimicrobial activities, etc.) of Natural/Synthetic molecules, Total synthesis, and methodology development of various organic reactions, Bio-conjugates Chemistry, Host-guest chemistry and Heterocyclic Chemistry. Recently, Dr. Motiur Rahman has extended his research towards metabolomics. During his postdoctoral tenure at Yeungnam University, Kyungpook National University and at UiTM Malaysia, he has done various research. In October 2010, he has joined as Assistant Professor, at College of Pharmacy, King Saud University, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and now serving as an Associate Professor. He has published his research work in JMC, BMC, EJMC, EJOC, Tetrahedron, etc. and having great contribution in Organic/Medicinal Chemistry.

Dr. Tosh received his Ph.D. degree (Organic Chemistry) from the Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay. He worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Ewha Woman's University, Seoul with Prof. Lak Shin Jeong, where he worked on medicinal chemistry and was the first to discover 4′-Seleno nucleoside scaffolds for anti-viral research. Dr. Tosh also worked as a visiting fellow with Dr. Kenneth A. Jacobson at Laboratory of Bioorganic Chemistry, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, where he worked on extensively on Adenosine receptors, P2Y receptors, Serotonin receptors, opioid receptors, and Dopamine Transporter. Several of his discovered molecules are in the preclinical developmental stage for a different therapeutic area like chronic neuropathic pain, anti-depression and seizure and also some molecules are available commercially as a research tool.  Currently, he works as a staff scientist at the same institute of NIH. Dr. Tosh serves as an Editorial Board member of the journal, Dataset Papers in Pharmacology and Biochemistry section of the journal, Dataset Papers in Biology” (Hindawi Publishing Corporation) and a Reviewer of many prominent journals in the area of Medicinal chemistry and Organic  Chemistry.

Dr. Mohammed I. El-Gamal, Ph.D. got his B.Sc. degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Mansoura, Egypt in 2003 with "Excellent with honor" grade, first achiever. Then he received his M.Sc. degree in medicinal chemistry from the same college. He got his Ph.D. degree in medicinal chemistry in August 2012 from Korea University of Science and Technology, Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Republic of Korea. After that, he worked as a star postdoctoral fellow at KIST and assistant professor of medicinal chemistry at the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Mansoura, Egypt. Mohammed I. El-Gamal, Ph.D. is the author of more than 55 publications in highly reputed international peer-reviewed journals. He got 3 patents and presented more than 38 posters and 8 oral presentations in many international conferences in The Republic of Korea, United Arab Emirates, USA, Japan, The Netherlands, and Austria. He has peer-review more than 67 articles. And he has been an editorial board member in more than 22 international journals. He has been also a member of the Asian Council of Science Editors (ACSE). Mohammed I. El-Gamal, Ph.D. and his group have developed a new more efficient prodrug of Olmesartan (antihypertensive agent) which has been marketed in the Republic of Korea. And he is interested in anticancer, anti-inflammatory, and antimicrobial drug development.

Dr. Meric Koksal Akkoc, Ph.D. is Professor of Faculty of Pharmacy at Yeditepe University She obtained her B.Sc. in Pharmacy in 1997 from Hacettepe University, Ankara, Turkey.  She then completed a M.Sc. in 1999 and Ph.D. in 2003 in Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Instutue of Heallth Sciences at Hacettepe University. During her graduate program, she worked as a research assistant. In 2003 she got a position as an Assistant Proffesor at Yeditepe University where she still has been. As a medicinal chemist, her research interest include drug discovery and development. Her papers and projects are focused on synthesis, design and structure activity relationships of potential molecules as an analgesic, antiinflammatory and anticancer agents.

Dr. Rasha Hanafi is Associate Professor of pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis at the unit of Instrumental analysis and analytical chemistry of at the German University in Cairo. She joined the GUC in 2004 as a teaching assistant till she obtained her master’s degree in pharmaceutical analysis from Cairo University in 2005 followed by Ph.D. in pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis in 2009 supervised by Prof. Hilde Spahn-Langguth and Prof. Laila Mahran, where she was the first pharmacist to earn this degree from GUC. She obtained her habilitation from the Supreme Council of Universities of Egypt in 2016 to become associate professor of pharmaceutical analysis. She teaching of Instrumental analysis and analytical chemistry for Pharmacy students and is the supervisor of the Central Research Laboratory of the faculty and trainer on all chromatographic and spectrophotometric instruments. She is a scientific consultant and free-lance trainer for the Industry and Academia in the field of Analytical Method Development and Validation. She obtained many travel grants from DAAD including GERSS, and financial sponsoring from different pharmaceutical companies (Roche and SEDICO) for a variety of analytical developed methods of interest. She supervised more about 20 masters and Ph.D. students have been an external examiner for postgraduate students from Cairo University. She co-authored one book and has more than 25 publications in peer-reviewed international journals and about 20 conference abstracts and oral presentations. In addition, she is reviewer and editor of 6 Scopus and Medline indexed international peer-reviewed journals in the field of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical analysis. She has been also an evaluator for DAAD scholarships’ applicants. Her research collaboration includes Freie University of Berlin, University of Tübingen, and 57357 children cancer hospital and the National Institute of Cancer. She masters 4 languages fluently (Spanish, French, English, and Arabic).

Dr. Sobhi Mohamed Gomha was born in 1972 in Fayoum, Egypt. He graduated from Cairo University, Egypt in 1995 then he carried out his M.Sc. and Ph.D. studies in 2002 and 2006 respectively, at Cairo University in the field of organic synthesis. In 2011 he promoted to Associate Professor and in 2016 he was appointed as a full Professor of Organic chemistry at Cairo University. He joined the scientific school of Prof. A. S. Shawali in 1996 and he has published 120 scientific papers and reviews all in international journals in the fields of synthetic organic chemistry, chemistry of hydrazonoyl halides, chemistry of enaminones, green chemistry and bioactive heterocyclic chemistry (There are about 1028 citations of his work from 2000 until march 2017 (h-index 19). In 2015 he awarded the prize of the best paper in heterocyclic chemistry from the Egyptian Heterocyclic Chemistry Society (E.H.C.S).
