Change Tan received an M.S. in organic chemistry at Nan Kai University in China, a Ph.D. in biochemistry at the University of Pennsylvania and a postdoc training in genetics at Harvard Medical School in the United States. She joined the University of Missouri in 2005 and is currently an associate professor in the Division of Biological Sciences at University of Missouri. Her research interests include gametogenesis and the origin of life and the origin of biodiversity. She teaches molecular biology and signal transduction to graduate and undergraduate students.

Anuradha is working in the Department of Medicine at University of Massachusetts Medical School. Her current research focuses on investigating the effect of chronic alcohol exposure on development of liver inflammation progressing to different clinical stages of liver disease. Specifically, she investigating the role of various immune cells, their receptors, downstream signaling and their inhibitors as unique therapeutic targets during alcohol-mediated liver injury using novel mouse models. While working at Meharry Medical College, Nashville, TN, she was involved in evaluating anti-carcinogenic effects of endothelins and soy peptides in breast cancer. She  received Ph.D. from Department of Immunopathology at PGIMER in December 2014. Ph.D. research work focused on evaluating the immunomodulatory potential recombinant antigens of L. donovani in specific activation of macrophages. she showed that one of the antigen when used as an adjunct to the currently used drugs helped early parasite clearance at suboptimal doses of highly toxic chemotherapeutic drugs using experimental animal model.

Mohammad Javed Equbal received his Ph.D. (Biochemical and Biotechnology Engineering) from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi, India. Later he carried his postdoctoral research in the area of chaperone assisted protein folding at Kusuma School of Biological Sciences, IIT Delhi. Prior to his Ph.D. He studied modern biology for his M.Sc. (Life Sciences) and M.Tech. (Biotechnology) degrees. At present he is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biomedical Sciences in Texas A&M University-Commerce, Texas, United States. His laboratory is currently engaged in research on understanding molecular events during direct cardiac differentiation and to utilize the available knowledge for producing highly efficient cardiomyocytes and cardiac tissues towards the treatment of myocardial infarction.

Professor Esam Z. Dajani, Ph.D., FACG is the founder and president of International Drug Development Consultants (IDDC) Corporation, a Contract Research Organization (CRO) which provides scientific consulting services to pharmaceutical companies, law firms, and governmental agencies. The scope of the consulting service includes clinical pharmacology, toxicology, drug development and regulatory affairs.  He has directed worldwide clinical research and development at major pharmaceutical companies. He led the research teams that discovered and developed misoprostol (Cytotec), an anti-ulcer drug.  Since 1980, he held continuous academic appointments in pharmacology and in medicine.  He is currently serving as Adjunct Professor of Medicine at Loyola University-Chicago.   He taught pharmacology and toxicology to medical, dental and pharmacy students.  He has research interests in clinical pharmacology, gastrointestinal pharmacology, central nervous system pharmacology, prostaglandins, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), growth hormones (e.g., epidermal growth factor), cannabinoids and narcotic analgesics.  

Dr Wilson’s career spans a number of decades and disciplines, as documented in The Open Nutraceuticals Journal, 2013, 6, (Suppl 1) 51-55 (this supplement honoured his work in nutrition), from life as a junior chemist with technical qualifications (1958-1964), to academician at the University of Wales at Aberystwyth and Cardiff whereupon he joined Professor Keith Griffiths at the Tenovus Institute for Cancer Research in Cardiff (1966) where he worked with an enterprising group of Thais (Danutra et al.)  on diet and endocrinology. The main thrust of early research was directed towards endocrinology of the breast and prostate, some of which was carried out at the Peter MacCallum Clinic at the University of Melbourne (1969-1971), Australia. Emphasis was on cancer intervention using epidemiological evidence and related natural and synthetic products which has blossomed into works on phyto-oestrogens and flavonoids many of which form part of his several hundred publications. Such research evidence-based studies, involving clinical trials and cohort studies required his numerical and statistical expertise gained at technical colleges, and at the universities of Aberystwyth, Melbourne, Minnesota (chronobiology), Cardiff, Limerick (2007), Durham (2008-2014), Southampton (2014-2015) and Swansea (2016). Epidemiological evidence stimulated his understanding of the environment, including space weather, both during his time at the Tenovus Institute (1966-69; 1971-1991) and afterwards in agricultural research (1992-2005), and thereafter, particularly in the areas of Nutrition and Cardiovascular disease and related areas (2008-present) where he has been an invited global speaker at international events in USA, Asia and Europe: he has 400-500 publications in biological sciences.In recognition of his contributions to science he has held senior positions in international and national organizations, memberships of many journal boards and is reviewer for many nutritional, cardiology, statistical and cancer-related journals.  Details are documented in the above-cited journal.

Dr. Keyvan Mostofi is currently working in Centre Clinical de Soyaux in France as a neuro and spine surgeon. He is the president of Caribbean Neuroscience Society and Caribo-amazonian Neuroscience Society. He is specialized in spine surgery, epilepsy surgery and brain tumor surgery. He is expert neurosurgeon in the judiciary. He completed his M.D in 2004 in university of UCL in Belgium. In 2006 he obtained epilepsy certificate at the University of Nancy. In 2009 he obtained surgical and dissection certificate at the University of Montpellier. Dr. Raffaele Pezzani is a biologist that received his ​PhD at the University of Padova (Italy), after a long experience in neuroscience. Then as an experience postdoc, he moved to oncology, endocrinology and recently to phytotherapy, that are the 3 current fields of research he is exploring. Now dr. Pezzani is the principal investigator of his research group in Padova, having a long lasting and valid experience (from 2001) in biology and biomedicine.

Giuseppe Lanza work as Consultant Neurologist and Clinical Researcher at the Oasi Research Institute – IRCCS in Troina (Italy), which is a Collaborating Center of the World Health Organization(WHO). Dr. Fatih Deniz obtained his Ph.D. degree in the field of Environmental Biotechnology, Department of Biological Sciences from the University of Kahramanmaras Sutcu Imam (Turkey). He is currently an associate professor and department chair at the Department of Environmental Protection Technologies at Harran University in Turkey. His research interest focuses mainly on the bioremediation technologies such as biosorption and bioaccumulation for the purification of water environments especially polluted with organic and inorganic substances like synthetic dyes and heavy metal ions. Dr.Hasan Kilic is a full time Chemistry Professor at Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey. Kilic obtained BSc in Chemistry (1986, Marmara University), MSc (1990, Marmara University), and PhD in Physical Chemistry (1997, Marmara Univ.). Kilic was a visiting research professor for two consecutive summers in Dr. Brankovic’s group at University of Houston, Texas, USA. Kilic has been conducting research in biological chemistry, photochemistry, electrochemistry, and reaction kinetics and published many papers in these fields. Kilic has guided 13 MSc thesis. Kilic secured a patent related to the usage of a coumarin derivative for specific applications in medicine. Dr. Zeliha Selamoglu is a Professor in Medical Biology department of Nigde Ömer Halisdemir University, Turkey. Dr. Abdelmonem A. Hegazy is currently working as Professor of Human Anatomy and Embryology Department in Faculty of Medicine. He is a Consultant of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Infertility. Dr. Mohamed Abdo Rizk holds a DVM degree from Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Mansoura University. He obtained his Master degree in 2011 in veterinary internal medicine from School of Veterinary Medicine, Mansoura University and obtained his joint PhD (Egypt/Japan) at 2016 in internal medicine from Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine,Hokkaido,Japan.Dr. Mohamed Abdo Rizk has more than 8 years of experience in veterinary internal medicine and infectious diseases. Beside his research experience in that area, he has 9 years of teaching experience primarily related to teaching veterinary internal medicine and infectious diseases to DVM students. He has many publications in national and international scientific journals. He received the prize of the best PhD thesis in Mansoura University at 2016. He trained in horse clinic and small clinic in University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover, Hannover, Germany. He worked as foreign visiting researcher at National Research Center of Protozoan Diseases (NRCPD), Obihiro University of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, Hokkaido, Japan. Currently he is assistant professor of internal medicine and infectious diseases at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Mansoura University.

Professor Ana Rita Figueiras has obtained her PhD degree from the University of Coimbra, and she is a Researcher and Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Pharmacy in this institution. She is scientific member of REQUIMTE/LAQV. Her researches are polymeric micelles, cyclodextrins and mucoadhesive polymers in drug delivery. During her Ph.D. thesis she acquired experience in drug permeability, cellular viability and cytotoxicity studies, mucoadhesive biomaterials, therapeutic applications of cyclodextrins and computational studies in drug design. She also developed research work during her PhD thesis in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain) by coorientation of Professor Juan Torres-Labandeira and in the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Institute of Pharmacy and Chemistry, University of Innsbruck, Austria by co-orientation of Professor Andreas Bernkop-Schnürch. Now, her objective is to combine know-how development during her PhD thesis and new strategies for successful drug delivery, especially in what concerns the use of block copolymers and micellar systems. She has numerous scientific publications in prestigious journals, several book chapters and various communications in international conferences.

Kwang-Hyun Baek is professor, Department of Biomedical Science and a director of Cell & Gene Therapy Research Institute at CHA University in Korea. He received his Ph.D. from the department of Zoology and Genetics at Iowa State University in US in 1995 and worked as a postdoctoral research fellow in the division of Genetics at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and in the department of Pediatric Oncology at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Harvard Medical School. He has been serving as an editorial board member, a regional editor, and an editor-in-chief of many international journals. Current research and clinical interests are in the molecular genetics of ubiquitination and deubiquitination systems relevant to various cancers and stem cell proliferation/differentiation. He first coined terms ubiquitomics and deubiquitomics in the field of the ubiquitin-proteasome system. In addition, he is interested in genomics and proteomics during cancer cell proliferation and apoptosis.
