Stool impaction is an ailment resulted from chronic constipation which commonly found in the elderly population. It causes wide range of potential complications if not promptly diagnosed and treated. These complications doubled when elder people experience other comorbidities. A case of an 80 years old lady with advanced dementia, bedridden and non-communicating is presented for clinical study. This patient who was presented with abdominal distention and changes in her mental status was found to have stool impaction based on the clinical and radiological test conducted to her.

Onion is a high-value vegetable consumed in Nigeria on a daily basis, and it forms an integral part of the diet, but the nutritional quality is low due to lack of appropriate cultural practices. The study examined the effects of planting dates on the nutritional quality of onion varieties in Ogbomoso, Nigeria. Five onion varieties (Local white, a local red, karibou, gandiol+, and safari) were subjected into four different planting dates namely, two under rain-fed (early April and August) and two under irrigation (early September and November).

Physical and environmental stress in conjunction with hectic lifestyle and unhealthy food habits are the major cause of diverse neurodegenerative disorders. Oxidative neuronal injury and acetylcholine deficiency have a major impact on learning and memory retention. Most of the treatment strategies are based on the improvement of cholinergic function in the brain and one of the emerging therapeutic targets is to enhance the acetylcholine level in the brain. Standardized botanical extracts including Huperzia serrata (1% Huperzine A, CogniUp), Convolvulus pluricaulis (SP) and Celastrus paniculatus (JY) have been demonstrated to attenuate brain function by serving as a natural acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor.

Individuals who are diagnosed with severe mental illness (SMI) such as schizophrenia have always been viewed publicly as being hazardous, violent, aggressive and unpredictable. Their awareness of the fact that they are being discriminated against and stereotyped results in an intense feeling of being devalued by the society, which is referred to as Self-stigma [1,2].

The current study was investigated for the in vitro cognitive effect of the Consciousness Energy Healing (The Trivedi Effect®) Treated novel proprietary test formulation in terms of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibition, neuroprotection, and neurite outgrowth assays in two different neuronal cell-lines (SHS-Y5Y and PC-12 Cells). The test formulation divided into two parts; one part was received the Biofield Energy Treatment by Mr. Mahendra Kumar Trivedi and termed as the Biofield Energy Treated sample, while the other part was denoted as the untreated test sample.

Injuries of the Ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) of the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint of the thumb are relatively common and well described in the literature. Stener lesion refers to the displacement of the avulsed distal end of the UCL, moving to lie over the adductor aponeurosis making the chances of spontaneous healing impossible [1].

Gullo´s syndrome is a benign pancreatic hyperenzymemia that appears in healthy individuals and that is maintained over time, with fluctuations and transient normalization of pancreatic enzyme values in the absence of any evidence of clinical or morphological pancreatic disease. Its correct diagnosis is important to assure the carriers of the defect that there is no pancreas disease and to avoid unnecessary examinations, treatments and hospitalizations.

The unlawful and uncontrolled disposal of waste tyres is greatly disturbing in terms of the environmental concerns and the economic misfortune. In combating this menace, there is growing interest in the application of efficient and environmental-friendly alternatives to the traditional recycling methods for waste tyres. Pyrolysis can be considered as an appropriate non-conventional method for complex materials such as tyres. Several works have been made to improve pyrolysis process towards higher yield and quality of biofuels and greater energy efficiency. This study considers Reverse Polymerization, a microwave-assisted pyrolysis process to extract complete yield and higher quality of valuable products, while avoiding toxic emissions into the environment. The feasibility of such innovative recycling process in Sub-Sahara Africa is essential in order to convince concerned authorities to buy into such advanced technologies with great benefits. The investment analysis and economic performance indicators from the study demonstrated that the operation of such proposed recycling system in the continent is economically feasible. However, the operation of such facility under the present market conditions might highly be challenged by high investment risk as the project is highly capital intensive.
