Biography

Prof. Azam Bolhassani is a distinguished Professor in the Department of Hepatitis and AIDS at the Pasteur Institute of Iran, Tehran. She has an extensive academic background in biological and chemical sciences, complemented by advanced research in molecular immunology and vaccine development. Prof. Bolhassani earned her Diploma in Mathematics and Physics Sciences in Tehran, followed by B.Sc. degrees in Biology from Tehran University and Chemistry from Central Tehran University. She completed her M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Clinical Biochemistry at Tarbiat Modarres University, Tehran. She later pursued postdoctoral research in Molecular Immunology and Vaccine Research at the Pasteur Institute of Iran (IPI).

Her research primarily focuses on immunotherapy and chemotherapy, nanoparticle-based delivery systems, adjuvant development, and vaccine design against HPV and HIV. She also specializes in immunoinformatics analysis and cell-penetrating peptides, contributing significantly to advancements in vaccine and drug delivery technologies. Prof. Bolhassani’s pioneering work continues to impact the fields of immunology and biochemistry, driving innovation in the prevention and treatment of viral infections.
