The use of gonadotropic stimulation in assisted reproductive technology programs increases the risk of developing the ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS), which is considered as a loss of control over the ongoing ovarian stimulation. The severe forms of OHSS lead to the severe complications that threaten the patient’s life.

26 women with HMB and scarred uterus were included in the study. Data regarding procedure completion, complications, hospital stay, success rate and failure of procedure necessitating hysterectomy was obtained. The majority of the patients had one C/S, 5 had two, one had 3 and two had 4 previous C/S scars. The procedure was completed in 84% of cases. Success rate was 68% (15/22) in the scarred uterus group and 32% (31.8%) (7/22) needed hysterectomy due to continuing heavy periods or pain. One woman in the scarred uterus group had uterine perforation (3.8%) needing overnight admission, all the rest of cases were done as a day procedure. A third (7/22)(32%) of women required a hysterectomy for persistent heavy bleeding or pelvic pain, all were with previous one C/S. The histology of the removed uterus confirmed leiomyomas with or without adenomyosis in all the cases explaining the possible cause of failed Novasure ablation.

Sickle cell disease (SCD) is estimated to affect approximately 100,000 Americans. Children and adolescents with chronic medical conditions like SCD require comprehensive care that addresses both medical and psychosocial needs to better control their disease and ultimately maximize function at home, school and the community. The purpose of this quality improvement project was to host a symposium to provide sickle cell disease education and increase awareness of sickle cell disease to patients, families, and the surrounding community.

Charles Bonnet syndrome (CBS) comprises of complex visual hallucinations secondary to visual impairment in the presence of preserved cognition. Age related macular degeneration and other factors causing visual deterioration lead to visual hallucinations in 10-15% of patients. Sensory deprivation and social isolation are risk factors for development of CBS. The distressing hallucinations are underreported by patients and to date there are no robust evidence based guidelines to manage these hallucinations. Since visual hallucinations are associated with multiple psychiatric disorders as well, these patients are often referred to mental health providers. Here, we present the case of CBS development after macular degeneration. Rapid and sustained resolution of visual hallucinations and associated distress was observed with low dose Risperidone.

Imitation is considered as a platform for interdisciplinary studies where social sciences, cognitive psychology, neurobiology and neurocybernetics interact, as well as clinical psychology. It is often used to explore various and several scientific fields but few works have investigated a series of linked successive motor actions. The current work aimed to study and expand the findings regarding which information subjects of different populations selected and included for reproducing demonstrated model ’actions. 120 children of 6 age groups divided between 3 years and 8 years, associated to autistic and deficient children were tested in this present study. This developmental scale completed, should provide a baseline for understanding in what type of constraints the autistic child would be specifically deficient in the management of his imitation. The comparison with mentally deficient children also seemed indispensable. The children’s imitative responses were videotaped, coded in dichotomy data, and then put into percentage. Our expected goal is to characterize the traits of autistic motor skills in reference to normal and mentally deficient development.

Objective: An indirect torque loss evaluation between the slot height and wire dimensions in different ceramic conventional and self-ligating brackets manufacturers. Material and Methods: 30 slot heights of five upper right incisors from 04 commercially available bracket systems were analyzed using a profile projector and 40 stainless steel wires from 04 different manufacturers (width, height and the edge bevel) were measured with a digital micrometer, and a vision-measuring machine. A mathematical formula was used to compare the results of the actual torque loss values versus the theoretical. Results: all brackets were oversized and varied from 0.598 mm (the highest mean) to 0.566 mm (the lowest mean).

This study aimed to determine the protein intake and percentage of organ weight in broilers fed rations containing fermented leaves and seeds from the rubber tree (FLSRT) as a substitute for soybean meal. The results of this study are also expected to reduce the use of imported feed ingredients and feed ingredients that compete with human needs, such as soybean meal.

This research was performed to explore the impacts of guanidinoacetic acid (GAA) supplementation of fish diets with variable energy contents on the growth performance and blood serum parameters of Nile tilapia fish. Nile tilapia Juveniles with an average weight of 20 g were cultured in glass aquaria and fed four formulated pelleted diets for 60 days. Our experiment was divided into four experimental groups: the first group (G1) was fed a basic control diet without any GAA supplementation. The other experimental groups, G2, G3 and G4, were fed diets with different levels of energy (25, 50 and 75 kcal/kg less than in the control, respectively) and supplemented with 0.06% GAA.

While the gap is widening between developed and developing countries in the field of classical animal genetics and breeding, genomic tools are becoming the method of choice in developed countries. The objectives of this study were to 1) demonstrate by a real case how the lack of suitable breeding strategies can be a major threat to autochthonous sheep breeds improvement and 2) show how genomic tools could be an efficient alternative tool to reverse the decrease of native breed productivity. A total of 54,476 fat tail Barabrine lambs from 77 flocks recorded during the period 2010-2014 were used in this study.

Near East and North Africa have 90 percent of their territory classified as arid or semi-arid rangelands. Increasing importation of animals and animal products are still followed due to an increasing consumers’ demand and poor producing abilities of existing native breeds. The objectives of this paper were to: 1) underline major genetic constraints for improving native sheep breeds productivities under low input production systems, 2) identify main ingredients and pathways for sustainable sheep breeding strategies under low input production systems.
