Each and every adult subject is having specific digital data of height characteristic. Physically it is measured in units of centimeter or in feet. It can also relatively be measured using light beam (camera) having same geological plane of control and exhibit image. Probability of having same twelve digital height data of two different subjects is rare, as a result adult subject is having specific digital code of identity. The data obtained can be described as photographic height (length) of the subject or height identity data for that particular distance. Aim of the article is to pointing out or to identify a missing (bhagedu) and a wanted person (culprit) from the mob using available data of height and recorded data of the investigating authority. The presence of informer (khabari), to identify a culprit is not required and there be a more than one spots of search at a time.

Security agencies are always saddled with huge responsibilities of trying to establish evidences to link a suspect to a particular crime. But in most cases, there are always very limited physical evidences due to the complexity of the crime. However, forensic palynology provides a very good option, because pollen and spores from plants are very minute, ubiquitous in distribution and are seldom useful in recovery of vegetation of a certain locality. This present study aims to assess the feasibility of pollen, spores, and sand grains as associative evidences recovered from a suspect linked with a crime scene. Forensic materials including soil samples from foot wear, dirt from clothes, earlobes and nostrils were retrieved from the body of a suspect at a particular location in Nigeria. The retrieved materials were subjected to standard laboratory palynological, biochemical and lithological procedures. The dionex analysis (anion) and atomic absorption spectrometry (cation) shows great similarity in the results obtained with an exception to Zinc. A considerable similarity was observed in the potential of hydrogen and salinity values of soil samples from both the suspect and crime scene. The lithological data reveals a great correlation in the colour, grain size, grain sorting, and grain texture and grain shape of these two different soil samples. The palynological analysis yielded a recovery of palynomorphs including pollen of Elaeis guineensis, Alchornea cordifoliia, Cassia fistula, Syzygium guineense, Cyperus papyrus, Pteris species and Nephrolepis biserrata were also recovered. This reveals the potential of retrieved materials from the body of a suspect as good sources of pollen and spores. It is however important to corroborate the use of palynomorphs and sand grains with other lines of evidences in solving crime-related disputes.

Infrared (IR) photography has been shown to be a proficient technique for the examination of documents, blood traces and ageing of skin injuries. However, its application in relation to the visualisation of latent Gunshot Residue (GSR) deposits has, until now, been significantly under researched. This paper evaluates the effectiveness of IR photography as a rapid technique for GSR visualisation on different fabric types.

In today’s crime investigation world determination of ABO blood grouping is still a very vital and effective precess in the field of forensic crime scenes. This investigation involves the identification of blood group, on the clothes (Accuse, Victim, injured, Complainer) collected from the scene of crime, and its cross comparision with the blood sample send by medical officer. Hence for this purpose total of 200 cases were included in the study having the samples of blood of accuse, victim, injured, complainer consisting of male and female... The determination of ABO/Rh factor was performed by conventional tube method and matrix gel card. The comparison of both techniques shows a very comparative result. As the red blood cells are sensitized with antibody will get agglutinate in the presence of anti human reagent in the matrix gel card and this will be trapped in the gel column this helps for easy analysis of blood group. However spin tube method is an operator-dependent assay, and is more susceptible to handling errors, the results are not more objective. The matrix gel card method requires Small sample volumes, and gives standardized performance with technical ease, and is with ready automation, and increased biosafety; all these factors have made this technology advantageous. In both techniques the reaction strength for ABO grouping and Rh factor is mainly govern by agglutination reaction intensity between red blood cells and anti-human reagent.

Mobbing was defined by Leymann “a form of psychological terrorism that implies an unostentatious and unethical attitude in a systematic form by one or more subjects, usually towards a single individual who, because of this persecution, finds himself in a defenceless condition and becomes object of continuous vexatious and persecutory activities that recur with a systematic frequency and over a period of time that is not short, causing considerable mental, psychosomatic and social suffering” (Leymann, 1988) [1].

Early treatment is recommended for patients with migraine attacks.

Congenital malformations can go unnoticed and have an impact on morbidity and mortality in early stages of life being a cause of infant death in some countries [1]. Malformations of the gastrointestinal tract occupy the second place among congenital abnormalities [2]. Along with them, the enteric duplication cyst is an infrequent anomaly difficult to diagnose specially for a non-specialist physician that is not use to attend this kind of pathologies or in hospitals where patients with this entities are infrequent. We present the case of a 5-month-old patient who underwent intestinal resection due to enteric duplication cyst.

In this paper, a mathematical five-dimensional dynamical system involving an SVEIR model of infectious disease transmission in a chemostat is proposed. A profound qualitative analysis is given. The analysis of the local and global stability of equilibrium points is carried out. It is proved that if R>1, then the disease-persistence (endemic) equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable. However, if 1≤R, then the disease-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable in R5.

Dermatopathic lymphadenitis (DL) is considered a benign disease, the symptoms of which can be relieved with only anti–histamine. It can be confused with lymphoma. Here, we report a case of DL, which resulted in hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis (HLH). After adequate treatment, remission was obtained at first; however, recurrence with liver failure occurred six months later, which quickly resulted in death. This particular case has not been reported elsewhere. It reminds us that even benign dermatological problems can cause life–threatening syndromes, such as, in this case, HLH. The risk needs to be taken seriously in patients presenting with fever, skin problems, and lymphadenopathy.

This is a retrospective and documental study with a quantitative approach, performed at the NICU of a reference hospital in Fortaleza, from November 2016 to January 2017, whose sample consisted of 30 medical records. The following variables were analyzed: weight, gestational age (GI), weight / GI adequacy, gender, Apgar score, BDM associated morbidities, ventilator support, parenteral nutrition (NTP), medicines, physiotherapeutic assistance and blood biochemical analysis. The variables were analyzed by Microsoft Excel® 2016 to obtain absolute and percentage data.

The most pathogenic species of Eimeria that infect chickens is Eimeria tenella. It is a major cause of coccidiosis, a self-limiting infectious disease of the digestive tract of chickens. In view of the resistance to the conventional anticoccidial drugs used in poultry, herbal extracts are often considered as safe alternatives. The present study was aimed at investigating the effects of methanolic leaf extract of Lannea schimperi on histopathological changes in the intestines, liver and kidneys of chicken infected with Eimeria tenella. Seven groups of 4 broilers chickens were used for the experiment.

Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin. It is also referred to as a steroid hormone with an active form that can bind to receptors. The main way to obtain vitamin D is its synthetization on the skin with the effect of ultraviolet light. It is activated in the body by two hydroxylation reactions in the liver and kidneys. Vitamin D is said to have other effects besides those on the bone metabolism. Vitamin D deficiency is a global social health problem. It is associated with cardiovascular diseases, obesity, metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, various types of cancer, immune deficiencies and increased mortality. It is frequently observed in obese individuals. A possible molecular mechanism of the relationship between obesity and vitamin D deficiency may be associated with the metabolism in mature adipocytes, oxidative stress, inflammation and the gene expression regulation capacity of vitamin D which is related to the adipogenesis process. Vitamin D may lead to an increase in insulin secretion and a decrease in insulin resistance by regulating the immune system. Inflammatory cytokine production is thought to be one of the mechanisms of action of vitamin D on insulin resistance. Inflammatory cytokines appear to be associated with obesity and insulin resistance. Low levels of vitamin D may cause disruption of insulin secretion. Vitamin D may be involved in β-cell secretion activity and changes in tissue response to insulin. There is a relationship between inadequate 25(OH)D levels and β-cell dysfunction. Vitamin D may have beneficial effects on β-cell function by suppressing the renin-angiotensin system. Based on all this information, it may be concluded that vitamin D is associated with obesity, insulin resistance and diabetes, and vitamin D deficiency may form the basis for these conditions.

Obesity has been linked to autonomic dysfunction, which is thought to be one of the main contributors for hypertension, cardiac remodelling and death. The aim of the present study was to investigate stress related changes in autonomous function in subjects at high risk for obesity (Restrained eaters). 33 healthy women aged 18-30 years were recruited through advertisement in local newspapers. Classification in restrained and unrestrained eaters was done according to norm tables from the German version of the Three Factor Eating Questionnaire. Participants were exposed to the Trier Social Stress Test, a standardized laboratory stressor. As an indicator of autonomous function the measurement of heart rate was performed. Restrained eaters did not respond with a significant increase in heart rate after stress. The results are interpreted with respect to consequences for nutritional intake and stress coping.

Giant cell arteritis (GCA) requires prompt diagnosis as clinical indicators of GCA are non-specific. Temporal artery biopsy (TAB) can be inconclusive and difficult to arrange timely. MR imaging is accurate for showing vessel thickening. However, the availability of MRI remains an issue in many radiology departments.

Candida, a commensal of the oral and the vaginal cavity, sometimes turns invasive, in immunosuppressed individuals. The resultant lesion, known as invasive or aggressive candidiasis, can be extremely refractory to treatment. This is a case report of an ulcero proliferative lesion in the hard palate that mimicked an intra-oral neoplasm. The clinical picture was confused by the fact that the patient was a chain smoker, and also because the initial MRI images were strongly suggestive of an invasive malignancy. When clinical and radiological signs exactly mimic a malignancy, the picture is confusing.

Delirium is common in palliative care and often not diagnosed or mistaken for sedation or anxiety. There are multiple validated screening tools. The clock drawing test (CDT) is a rapid and patient centered screen for delirium which can be followed longitudinally. It also has the possibility of detecting the underlying neuroanatomical lesion. We present a patient with a right hemispheric subdural hematoma who had a reversal of the numbers on the clock face. This has been described with pathology of the right hemisphere. This patient experience illustrates the benefits of the CDT not only in detecting delirium but also revealing the neuroanatomical locus which generated the delirium episode and assisted the palliative care team in identifying patients with appropriate decision-making capacity

The pathogenesis and immune response to a chronic viral infection is multifaceted especially for HIV infection. The effect of HIV on the systemic immunoenvironment of the infected individual is profound and triggered by multiple stimuli. While replication competent viral infection induces a large spectrum of immune responses, such as cytokine release, we focused on what happens when cells are exposed to replication incompetent virions and their components.

The CIGB-552 peptide is a synthetic peptide that exerts cytotoxic effect on tumor cells. Thus, CIGB-552 peptide quantification in patient samples is crucial for assessing the treatment efficacy. Therefore, this study describes the generation and characterization of monoclonal antibodies (mAb) directed against the CIGB-552 peptide to be used in a quantification assay in further pharmacokinetic studies in humans. In this sense, the CIGB.552-H294 mAb specificity was evidenced only against the CIGB-552 peptide and a metabolite of 17 amino acids resulting from the CIGB-552 peptide degradation detected in mouse sera.

The second is to find out if there is a microbial biofilm layer in water resources such as wells, storage tanks, and even water distribution networks. The presence of biofilms in water resources and reservoirs reduces the quality of water.
