BioequivalenceA sensitive ultra performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC-ESI-MS/MS) method for measurements of N-butylscopolamine in plasma was developed and validated. A SPE extraction was proposed for the clean up of plasma and N-butylscopolamine-d9 was added as internal standard. The analyses were carried out using a phenyl column and mobile phase of acetonitrile:

Thyroid tissue samples of 200 patients who underwent total thyroidectomy, near total thyroidectomy and subtotal thyroidectomy for surgical management of multinodular goiter were designed our study. The surgical procedures were performed between January 2016 and December 2018 in general surgery department MUST University. Preoperative ultrasound-guided fine needle aspiration cytology and the postoperative surgical specimens were delivered to pathology lab at MUST University 6th of October city, Giza. Patients with thyroid neoplasms, thyroiditis, toxic and recurrent goiter were excluded from the study. Personal and demographic data were collected and analyzed. Postoperative clinical complications and incidental neoplasms were evaluated. All the patients were followed up over 1 year for expected clinical complications, recurrence of goiter and appearance of neoplasms.

The spent fuel from the nuclear power reactors is being stored in repositories and dry casks in many countries of the world. However, it does not solve the main problem of the spent fuel, which is the high radiotoxicity of fuel for a long term. A new strategy is required to close the nuclear fuel cycle, and for the sustainability of the nuclear power generation. This strategy could be the plutonium recycling to obtain more energy and recycle the Minor actinides produced during the irradiation, to transmute them into less radioactive products. In this work, we assess the amounts of Minor actinides generated in different fuel designs and the amounts of Minor actinides remaining after recycle them in a thermal reactor.

Onion is a high-value vegetable consumed in Nigeria on a daily basis, and it forms an integral part of the diet, but the nutritional quality is low due to lack of appropriate cultural practices. The study examined the effects of planting dates on the nutritional quality of onion varieties in Ogbomoso, Nigeria. Five onion varieties (Local white, a local red, karibou, gandiol+, and safari) were subjected into four different planting dates namely, two under rain-fed (early April and August) and two under irrigation (early September and November).

Physical and environmental stress in conjunction with hectic lifestyle and unhealthy food habits are the major cause of diverse neurodegenerative disorders. Oxidative neuronal injury and acetylcholine deficiency have a major impact on learning and memory retention. Most of the treatment strategies are based on the improvement of cholinergic function in the brain and one of the emerging therapeutic targets is to enhance the acetylcholine level in the brain. Standardized botanical extracts including Huperzia serrata (1% Huperzine A, CogniUp), Convolvulus pluricaulis (SP) and Celastrus paniculatus (JY) have been demonstrated to attenuate brain function by serving as a natural acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibitor.

The current study was investigated for the in vitro cognitive effect of the Consciousness Energy Healing (The Trivedi Effect®) Treated novel proprietary test formulation in terms of acetylcholinesterase (AChE) inhibition, neuroprotection, and neurite outgrowth assays in two different neuronal cell-lines (SHS-Y5Y and PC-12 Cells). The test formulation divided into two parts; one part was received the Biofield Energy Treatment by Mr. Mahendra Kumar Trivedi and termed as the Biofield Energy Treated sample, while the other part was denoted as the untreated test sample.

Injuries of the Ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) of the metacarpophalangeal (MCP) joint of the thumb are relatively common and well described in the literature. Stener lesion refers to the displacement of the avulsed distal end of the UCL, moving to lie over the adductor aponeurosis making the chances of spontaneous healing impossible [1].

Gullo´s syndrome is a benign pancreatic hyperenzymemia that appears in healthy individuals and that is maintained over time, with fluctuations and transient normalization of pancreatic enzyme values in the absence of any evidence of clinical or morphological pancreatic disease. Its correct diagnosis is important to assure the carriers of the defect that there is no pancreas disease and to avoid unnecessary examinations, treatments and hospitalizations.
