Source Distribution and Variation of Atmospheric di-carbonyl Compounds in Wanqingsha, Pearl River Delta, South China, from 2008 to 2011

Glyoxal (G) and methylglyoxal (MG) have received cautions for their roles in the atmospheric chemistry and formation of secondary organic aerosol. Mostly they come from the photochemical transformation of precursors like isoprene, aromatic compounds, acetylene and acetone etc. Here these two compounds were studied in Wanqingsha, the central sector of Pearl River Delta (PRD), south China, in deep-autumn from 2008-2011.

Pharmacokinetics Bridging Study of a 400 Mg Extended Release Formulation of the Novel Fumaric Acid Ester PPC-06 (Tepilamide Fumarate) in Healthy Male Volunteers

Tepilamide fumarate (PPC-06) is a new, patented prodrug of monomethyl fumarate (MMF), belonging to the fumaric acid esters (FAEs) class of drugs. The efficacy and safety of a 400 mg PPC-06 dose administered twice daily, achieved thus far through concomitant intake of two tablets of 200 mg, was demonstrated previously in two Phase 2 clinical trials on patients with moderate to severe chronic plaque-type psoriasis.

Labetalol in Comparison to Methyl Dopa in Treatment of Gestational Hypertension, A Randomized Trial

To evaluate the value and safety of labetalol in comparison to Alfa methyldopa in treatment of pregnant women with pregnancy-induced hypertension (PIH). 264 patients with PIH were randomly distributed to take either methyldopa (group 1) labetalol (group 2). or Intake of medications with respect to Age, gravidity, Blood Pressure measurement, albumin in urine measurement Levels, Side Effects, dose of the drug, increasing duration of pregnancy, mode of delivery, Perinatal safety and APGAR scores were studied. The statistical level of significance was taken at P<0.05.

Methylmalonic Acidemia and Megaloblastic Anemia due to Congenital Intrinsic Factor Deficiency

Causes of vitamin B12 deficiency in children include decreased intake, abnormal absorption, and inborn errors of B12 transport and metabolism. Rare causes of abnormal cobalamin absorption include Imerslund-Grasbeck syndrome (IGS) and intrinsic factor deficiency (IFD). IGS and IFD are caused by defects in the genes CUBN, AMN, and GIF. We describe a 2 year old male who presented with severe megaloblastic anemia and methylmalonic acidemia. He was found to have a GIF heterozygous mutation c.79+1G>A associated with congenital gastric intrinsic factor deficiency and a novel variant c.960C>A in trans position.
