Fifteen studies, representing over 2,500 patients, have found that up to 40% of patients continue to have abdominal pain and symptoms after cholecystectomy. As a result, there is increasing interest in non-operative approaches for managing patients with symptomatic gallstones. The goal of this study was to summarize the existing evidence and identify remaining evidence gaps for the medical treatment of symptomatic gallstone disease: including synthetic phospholipids, synthetic bile acids, choleretics, cholesterollowering medications, and diet

Exclusive breastfeeding is essential for the first 6 months of life. In Pakistan, the proportion of children under age 6 months who are exclusively breastfed is only 38 percent making it urgent to explore interventions to address the low rates.

We report a case of 19-year-old female presented with history of abdominal distension for 4 months for which she was counselled to be because of pregnancy. She gave birth to healthy baby one month back but abdominal distension didn’t resolve. On examination, she had distended and tender abdomen with visible striae.

Regular whole-flock treatments and long-term repeated use of similar anthelmintics has led to the development of anthelmintic resistance and widespread epidemic of sheep nematodiasis. The current work was carried out to understand the prevalence of gastrointestinal nematodes in Ordos fine-wool sheep and to evaluate the efficacy of currently used anthelmintics.

Succinylcholine (Sch) is usually given for intubation in suspected difficult airway due to its fast onset and short duration of action. We report a case of Masseter Muscle Rigidity (MMR) after giving Sch to a patient for lap cholecystectomy with difficult airway

Efficient orthogonal arrays with three factors having two, three and four levels were constructed with balance and orthogonal property for lowest common multiples of runs. The two forms of balance coefficient were used for classifying the designs into two; and minimum aberration criteria were used to determine designs with less aberration. The designs constructed using the maximum form of balance coefficient has the less aberration in both the Generalized Minimum Aberration and Minimum Moment Aberration criteria.

The delivery of the drug at a predetermined controlled rate and its systemic effect is utmost important. Topically administered medicaments in the form of patches is being popular for its effectiveness. The main objective of this research was to formulate matrix-moderated transdermal patch of diclofenac potassium and to evaluate them concerning various in-vitro parameters.

The endeavor of this research accounts for a superficial green route scheme by using an extract of leaves of Smilax aspera as a stabilizing and capping agent. Zinc Oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) were examined through UV-visible Spectrophotometer, X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), EDX (Energy Dispersive X-rays spectroscopy), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). The NPs demonstrates potential photo catalytic activity for the degradation of Methyl Orange (MO) and Methylene Blue (MB) dyes upon exposure to sunlight.

Nigerian bentonite was modified with cetyltrimetylammoniumbromide (CTAB), a quaternary ammonium compound which possesses surfactant properties. Modification was achieved via impregnation techniques and also varying the concentration of the modifier from 0.02 - 0.15mol/L. Adsorption test was carried out using Water, Petrol (PMS), Kerosene (DPK) and Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) on both modified and unmodified bentonite.

Environmental pollution and climate change continue to be a major cause for concern in the 21st century. Aluminum is the most abundant metal on the surface used in every walk of life. Red mud, a by-product produced during the extraction of Aluminium from Bauxite by Bayer’s Process, causes serious hazards for the human and ecological systems.

Bilateral choanal atresia is a rare congenital malformation, which causes asphyxia neonatorum rarely compatible with life, making this pathology a diagnostic and therapeutic emergency. We report a very rare case of bilateral choanal atresia in a girl who survived to the age of 6 without neonatal care, and we discuss the clinical, endoscopic, radiological aspects and the treatment of this condition

Distant metastases from follicular thyroid carcinoma are not uncommon, but bone localization in the cranial vault is extremely rare. Although these metastases have a poor prognosis, early diagnosis and appropriate treatment can improve quality of life. We report a case of follicular thyroid carcinoma revealed by a metastasis of the cranial vault initially diagnosed as meningioma.

Branchial arch anomalies are one of the most common congenital anomalies that are usually unilateral, bilateral presentation is rare. We describe what we believe a rare reported clinical case of a 34-year-old man with coexisting first and second bilateral branchial fistulas associated with no family history or associated syndrome.

Prosthesis material and design is thought to have a role in effective sound transmission, rate of complications and success of stapes surgery. Titanium has been shown to be a promising material in this regard. We compared the intra-operative events, complication rate and the hearing outcomes results of stapes surgery using titanium versus fluoroplastic piston prosthesis.

Cardiac arrest is a leading cause of death in USA, nearly 90% of them fatal and Out of Hospital Cardiac Arrest (OHCA) is a leading cause of death worldwide. The Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), especially if administered immediately after cardiac arrest, can double or triple a person’s chance of survival. CPR by training persons increases the frequency the survival rate. Therefore, we aim to look into the common pitfalls that both medical students and genior physicians face in the recognition and dealing Compression in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation with its outcome.

In this study, we report the results of a needs assessment conducted using community-based participatory research (CBPR) and concept mapping to identify and prioritize interventions for improved food security and health in Chacraseca, Nicaragua. The study involved stakeholders from Auburn University, a non-profit organization (JustHope, Inc.), medical doctors, and community members from Chacraseca.
