Previous studies reported that the paraspinal muscles of adolescents with severe idiopathic scoliosis scheduled for surgery contain higher proportion of type Ⅰ fibers on the convex side. However, the muscle properties are unknown in mild adolescent idiopathic scoliosis. The objective of this study was to evaluate the differences among the convex, concave and control sides of the paraspinal muscles in patients with mild AIS and healthy individuals and to help in the treatment of mild AIS patients.

Exclusive breastfeeding is essential for the first 6 months of life. In Pakistan, the proportion of children under age 6 months who are exclusively breastfed is only 38 percent making it urgent to explore interventions to address the low rates.

We report a case of 19-year-old female presented with history of abdominal distension for 4 months for which she was counselled to be because of pregnancy. She gave birth to healthy baby one month back but abdominal distension didn’t resolve. On examination, she had distended and tender abdomen with visible striae.

The aim of this study was to compare and determine the feasibility, surgical outcomes, intraoperative and postoperative complications of the use of the posterior approach technique in the laparoscopic radical hysterectomy (LRH) to the conventional laparoscopic radical hysterectomy in patients with cervical cancer.

Efficient orthogonal arrays with three factors having two, three and four levels were constructed with balance and orthogonal property for lowest common multiples of runs. The two forms of balance coefficient were used for classifying the designs into two; and minimum aberration criteria were used to determine designs with less aberration. Nigerian bentonite was modified with cetyltrimetylammoniumbromide (CTAB), a quaternary ammonium compound which possesses surfactant properties. Modification was achieved via impregnation techniques and also varying the concentration of the modifier from 0.02 - 0.15mol/L. Bilateral choanal atresia is a rare congenital malformation, which causes asphyxia neonatorum rarely compatible with life, making this pathology a diagnostic and therapeutic emergency. We report a very rare case of bilateral choanal atresia in a girl who survived to the age of 6 without neonatal care, and we discuss the clinical, endoscopic, radiological aspects and the treatment of this condition

Distant metastases from follicular thyroid carcinoma are not uncommon, but bone localization in the cranial vault is extremely rare. Although these metastases have a poor prognosis, early diagnosis and appropriate treatment can improve quality of life. We report a case of follicular thyroid carcinoma revealed by a metastasis of the cranial vault initially diagnosed as meningioma.
