The aim of the present work was formulation and evaluation of in-situ gelling system of Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride. The poor bioavailability and therapeutic response exhibited by conventional ophthalmic solution due to rapid precorneal elimination of the drug may be overcomed by the use of in-situ gel forming system that are installed as drop into the eye and undergo sol to gel transition in the cul-de-sac.

Magnesium gluconate (Mag-G) is an important nutraceutical and pharmaceutical compound used as a source of magnesium to maintain the overall quality of life as well as for the prevention and treatment of various human diseases. The current study evaluated the influence of the Trivedi Effect® on the physicochemical and thermal properties of Mag-G using sophisticated analytical techniques. Mag-G powder was divided into control and treated parts.

Injury to the skin provides a unique challenge, as wound healing is a complex and intricate process. Acute wounds have the potential to move from the acute wound to chronic wounds, requiring the physician to have a thorough understanding of outside interventions to bring these wounds back into the healing cascade. Surgical enrichment/dressings are applications for wounds, burns, and ulcers. They should be regarded as supportive of healing; are desirable but not essential in an emergency.

A simple High-Performance Thin layer chromatography (HPTLC) method has been developed for determination of atenolol in human blood and viscera. The mobile phase was ethyl acetate, acetone, ethyl alcohol, ammonia solution in the ratio of 45:45:7:3. The densitometry scanning at 254 nm was found to be maximum absorption for standard atenolol. The standard and extracted atenolol from samples were detected by HPTLC and confirmed with authenticated spectra at 254 nm. The quantity of the atenolol determined to be 1.6 µg for viscera and 1.5 µg for blood sample.

Temozolomide is an orally administered chemotherapeutic drug used concurrently with radiation for the treatment of newly diagnosed glioblastoma. Although the addition of Temozolomide has shown to improve overall survival, it is commonly associated with haematological complications. Eltrombopag is an oral thrombopoietin (TPO) receptor agonist that is also used off-label for temozolomide-induced aplastic anaemia.

Endometritis is a common disease in peripartum livestock leading to economic losses. A two-year-old, primiparous Egyptian Baladi doe suffered from mucopurulent endometritis. In a standing position using a new treatment called SAT, 10 ml of boiling water (≈100 oC) was slowly injected within the uterine lumen. Peripheral blood and cervical discharge samples were collected before injection (bi) and at 8, 24, 48, 96, 144 and 216 hrs. post injection (pi) and were sent to the lab.

Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a common yet distressing condition afflicting tissues of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract in companion animals; symptoms include vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of appetite and weight loss. Pathogenesis of IBD may link to both diet and parasitic or bacterial infections of the gut. Although current treatments may provide some relief to the animal, unfortunately recurrent flaring of symptoms is not uncommon. Therapeutic interventions available to the veterinarian include those that focus on treating any underlying infection and or a change in diet, both employed with the aim of reducing inflammation.

The main objective of the present work was to study the population trend of the Seychelles scale, Icerya seychellarum (Westwood) (Hemiptera: Monophlebidae) on guava trees at Abu-Suwair district in Ismailia Governorate, Egypt during two consecutive years (2018-19). The results showed that insect population was recorded on guava trees all the year round and has three peaks of seasonal activity per year i.e., June, August/September and November.

Multiple sclerosis (MS) is a chronic inflammatory condition not commonly associated with cancer. Although since 1993 with the introduction of disease modifying therapies (DMTs), changing the natural history of the disease, cancer risk appears associated with some of these new therapies. We present the most common risks associated with each DMTs.

Multiple myeloma is a malignant disease caused by monoclonal proliferation of multiple myeloma plasma cells [1]. In patients, high-dose melphalan chemotherapy and autologous stem cell transplantation are administered. Common side effects of high dose melphalan are oral mucositis, enteritis, and neutropenia [2].

Developmental delay (DD) / intellectual disability (ID) is considered one of the most genetically heterogeneous human diseases. Herein, we described a Chinese boy affected by DD/ID with 3-methylcrotonyl-CoA carboxylase deficiency (MCCD) and 3-hydroxy3-methylglutaric aciduria (3-HMG), which associated with a novel missense hemizygous mutation, c.4442C>T, within the acidic domain of HCFC1 gene identified by whole exon sequencing (WES) and validated by Sanger sequencing.

The development and spread of antibiotic resistance have become a major cause of concern. Over a past few decades, no major new types of antibiotics have been produced and almost all known antibiotics are losing their activity against pathogenic organisms. Overuse and misuse of antimicrobials in animals and humans is contributing to the rising threat of antibiotic resistance as some types of infections in humans have already developed resistance to most of the antibiotics available for treatment.

Breast cancer ranks first among the most commonly diagnosed cancers in Kenyan females and globally. Treatment is challenging because it is a heterogeneous disease with several subtypes. There has been a significant change in the treatment of Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2 (HER2) positive breast cancer subtypes following the introduction and widespread use of HER2 targeted therapies.

This paper aims to assess the effects of industrial pollution on infant mortality between the years 1850-1940 using full count decennial censuses. In this period, US economy experienced a tremendous rise in industrial activity with significant variation among different counties in absorbing manufacturing industries, which is used as a proxy for variation in space-time industrial pollution.
