Cervical carcinoma is the fourth most common gynecologic cancer. Screening assays that include the conventional cytology (CC) have a sensitivity and specificity far from optimal; however, liquid-based cytology (LBC) may overcome some limitations. The objective is to compare the screening accuracy of LBC and CC in individuals suspected of having precancerous lesions. A prospective, single center study, recruited individuals from a tertiary-level center. In all participants, CC and LBC were performed. Clinical, cytologic and histopathologic results were collected. Bethesda System was used and agreement of two of three cytopathologists was necessary to assign a positive or negative result. Cervical biopsy was performed in participants with abnormal findings.

To define groups of patients who may hold prosthetics subatrophic eyes and removes the eye with subsequent prosthetics. Under observation from 2010-2017 was 152 patients with posttraumatic subatrophy (the average age is 46.1 years), divided into 2 groups: 1-102(67,1%) patient who underwent enucleation with the for-mation of the locomotor stump - 56 (55,0%), evisceration - 46 (45,0%); and group 2 - 50 (32.9%) and patients who have had prosthetic subatrophic eyes.

This review examines the incidence and origins of Salmonella fresh salad leaf colonization, models the behaviour of the pathogen when within a bagged salad and considers the various infection risk reduction strategies relevant to salad growers, distributors and consumers which can be employed to improve the microbiological safety of fresh salad leaves

Spasticity is defined as ‘a disorder of sensorimotor control, resulting from an upper motor neuron (UMN) lesion, presenting as intermittent or sustained involuntary activation of muscles’. It is characterized by increased involuntary velocity-dependent tonic stretch reflexes (muscle tone) with exaggerated tendon jerks, resulting from hyper-excitability of the stretch reflex. In the recent years,a range of non-pharmacological interventions has been used to manage spasticity. Among the novel of all therapies, extracorporeal shock wave therapy (ESWT) is attractive for many researchers since the noninvasive, easy application after well training and afety property. Moreover, the evidences of regeneration of musculoskeletal tissues made ESWT more interesting than other novel therapies.This article will show the evidences, practical clinical use and precaution to guide treating for the clinicians in the novel therapy of ESWT for spasticity. The review of the scientific evidences including methodology components and main results of ESWT treatment on upper limb and lower limb muscles affected by post-stroke spasticity are demonstrated. However, reducing spasticity alone without addressing the negative components of the upper motor neuron syndrome will limit meaningful recovery. A combination of rehabilitation techniques is needed to facilitate functional improvements.

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of medial collateral ligament (MCL) injury of the elbow was often observed in asymptomatic adolescent basketball players. We aimed to clarify the clinical interpretation of “asymptomatic MCL injury observed on MRI” by comparing MRI, ultrasonography (US), and physical findings.

The microbiological purity of the finished products based on bio-activated seed and grain requires special attention, as the level of moisture in bio-activated raw materials is 42-44%, which is a pleasant environment for the development of microorganisms. Therefore, the search for effective ways to increase the microbiological safety of sprouted raw materials and finished products on their basis is always actual.

The objective of this study was to evaluate blood and bodily fluids exposure through needlestick injuries (NSI) and non-percutaneous incidents among healthcare workers (HCWs). This project utilized a dataset collected from J. W. Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia, between January 1, 2014 and August 15, 2017. Data included de-identified codes of employees, occupations, types of exposure to bloodborne pathogens, routes of exposure, infectious disease exposures, and time incidents.

The body transition in becoming adults of obese and lean types has not been clearly demonstrated. In this study we first investigated the changes in mean BMI with age by applying the wavelet interpolation method to the changes with age in girls’ BMI. Then, by detecting the maximum peak velocity in the age-related changes in that BMI (MPV of BMI), we confirmed that BMI, similar to height and weight, follows a general type growth pattern tracing a sigmoid curve in which the peak appears in puberty.

In this paper the main aim to study analyze data on variability in firearm restrictions and suicide rates in the Azerbaijan Republic, for this reason was evaluated two research questions: firstly, investigate the quantity of perfect suicides and attempts to them with gender indicators: secondly, indicators of means of suicide in percentage terms with the suicide age categories.

Pressure head was gained from the distribution of pores to characterize the sandstones of the Shajara reservoirs of the permo-Carboniferous Shajara Formation. The attained values of pressure head were employed to calculate the pressure head fractal dimension. Based on field observations in addition to the acquired values of the pressure head fractal dimension, the sandstones of Shajara reservoirs were divided here into three units. The obtained units from base to top are: Lower Shajara Pressure Head Fractal Dimension Unit, Middle Shajara Pressure Head Fractal Dimension Unit and Upper Shajara Pressure Head Fractal Dimension Unit.

Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) is frequently associated to Alzheimer’s disease (AD) but can also occur in Lewy body dementia (LBD). The present post-mortem study compares the incidence and the topographic distribution of small cerebrovascular lesions in LBD brains without and with severe CAA (LBD-CAA).

The changes in rainfall conditions have a direct and immediate impact on the performance of agricultural sector as well as on the country’s total gross domestic product (GDP). In order to characterize the climate of Mieso, Melkassa, and Adami Tulu located in Central Rift Valley (CRV) of Ethiopia daily climate data were obtained from Melkassa Agricultural Research Centre (MARC) for Mieso, Melkassa and Ademi Tulu and used for characterization using Interactive statically (INSTAT) V3.37.

The efficacy of purified glutathione-s-transferase (GST) to protect sheep against haemonchosis was assessed. Fifteen lambs, 3.5-5month-old, were bisected into five groups (n=3). Two groups were vaccinated with 250μg of each prepared antigen (crude adult antigen (CAA), purified GST) in combination with mineral oil adjuvant at zero, 14th days of the experiment. The other three groups were kept as control groups; non-immunized infected, non-immunized non-infected and adjuvant control. One week after the last booster dose, the lambs in all groups except control negative were challenged with 400 L3/kg live weight orally. Protein characterization of each antigen was done by SDS-PAGE and immunoblting. The vaccine efficacy was estimated by the fecal egg count, where the vaccinated groups showed 58.90% and 79.38% reduction in eggs in CAA and GST respectively. Moreover, 31.45% and 92.10% reduction in abomasal worm count was reported in CAA and GST vaccinated lambs, respectively. The protection was found corresponsive to the sera antibody levels in the immunized groups. It was concluded that the GST had protective efficacy against H. contortus infection in lambs.

The pigmented purpuric dermatoses (PPD) are skin rashes that are benign but can often be mistaken for other purpura-causing diseases, which must be ruled out. Although they are more prevalent in adults, they can also be seen in children. Though these dermatoses rarely involve other organs, the rash can be distressing for the parents of an adolescent or child. We presented a case of a 15 year old girl with a pathological diagnosis of eczematid-like form of PPD, which clinically diagnosed as the Schamberg’s form of PPD. Biopsy is frequently necessary to reach a final diagnosis.

We describe a 17-year-old boy with sudden onset of widespread pruritic, urticarial rash. A dermatologist was consulted and he was diagnosed with cercarial dermatitis, otherwise known as swimmer’s itch.
